This is true, but only somewhat. Every player is different, and every situation is different. You can very much monitor from player activities like visits, in-home visits, etc. Take Nasir Rankin for example - can he de-commit, sure, anyone can, but I'd have extreme doubts (as of today). This kid literally committed and was off to Bama for an unofficial literally the next week. That OV has been set up for months. He was never committed (truly).

If we lose Barnett, we'll have lost two of our highest "verbal" commitments, one to A & M and one to Alabama. We've also flipped a couple in our direction. It's only June. The whole system is broken, including verbal commitments because NO coach honors them. None.

People come and people go in your life, but the real ones, the ones that stick by your side, the ones that have your back through thick and thin... Now that's Family!!! ILL....
We just did the exact same with a guy that's not even top 1,000. And for money's worth, he is a four star on rivals (Barnett). Every school as far as i'm concerned pushes for that four star label as much as possible (even if they're not).
This is true, but it's also a bit ludricrous when the picture/link literally right below shows 3 star.
