I feel like the settlement explicitly disallows this type of thing now. Doesn't it?Have you all seen Fanstake? Do you think this is the future of NIL or is it a flash in the pan?

wow, had some impressive throws into tight windows
I watched it when I saw this comment. I’ve never seen somebody have bad form on a trap bar deadlift, especially when using the elevated handles. That was crazy. His form is absolutely terrible on all those lifts. Will love to see what Tank will do with this kid once he gets his hands on him.
Some really nice accurate throws. I might get shredded for this but the one thing that gives me pause at the next level for him is that his delivery is on the slow side from what I see. This might cause some issues at the next level as overall speed and reaction time picks up. It'll be interesting to see how he progresses mechanically because if he can get the ball out faster with that truly impressive accuracy he showed he will be an unbelievable QB. Definitely like what I saw though.
The bigger thing is we need to keep putting dudes in the league. To use BB’s words, it’s only worth it to take less “instant” NIL money if we’re proving we can get you the “forever” NFL money. The Jeff Johnson article and reported leak from Tate on Altmyer's NIL paycheck (short version: Altmyer getting $1.1 million from Illinois. Tennessee offered him around $2.5 million and turned him down) is the perfect example of why the program needs to (continuously) improve their prep recruiting. There is great value of getting these players early so you can maximize your cost value of keeping your stars instead of trying to acquire them in the portal.
Pretty sure we’re fine with David Olano.

He's got his hands full spelling his own last name. I'll give him a pass on this onehe'll learn how to spell it:
when/who was the last QB who started a game for us that was a prep recruit ?Good thoughts, but Altmyer was a portal get.
yeaHe's got his hands full spelling his own last name. I'll give him a pass on this one![]()

hmmWilliams played quarterback his first two years at Illinois in 2019 and 2020. He played in four games his first season and took a redshirt. As a redshirt freshman in 2020, he started four games and played in one other. In his first career start, he rushed for 192 yards, which was a school record for quarterbacks.[5] Overall for the season, he completed 26 of 63 passes for 393 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions and rushed for 389 yards with a touchdown.
