Article out says Alabama’s NIL is less than $20 million. I’m surprised they could outbid us on an Illinois TE that we wanted and we want to upgrade position
Alabama has had a bit more success than IL & the NIL these guys actually receive on campus only seems loosely related to what is promised in recruiting..

Super intrigued with how the staff sees the OLine in '26. Would probably prefer an established signal caller - but that run game will be loaded, same with WR (only real loss Hank Beatty).
Really Hampton with Boyd preparing as #2 all year, then 3 years of Boyd is not a bad option at all.
Before it was Leary for 1 year (if he wins the job) then a new QB. Same setup different players.

100% do not believe that number. This is simply spin to moderate fallout from the FSU loss. It's easier to try to summon more money from the donors than deal with higher and higher pressure on the coach.

Ignoring the recruit, I'm surprised the staff is interested in another '26 WR. Already have Grant, Alston, and Rankin on board. Maybe they feel more comfortable with Rankin as a DB? Maybe Grant plays elsewhere?
Staff seems to be high on Bowick. Haven't had an oversized WR with speed in the past and I think they are realizing what that prototype can open up for the offense moving forward. Really, our best receivers have been either undersized/4.6 40 speed...fast enough, but not traditional burners.

Don't think many of us expected Bowick to be the focal point that he was Friday night. Milan is very much in the same mold as a 6'5 speedster.

Think they sell him on what they do with Bowick this year.

Wil he even one of our top 3 wideouts when its all said and done? Buzz out of camp seemed like he was behind Elzy and Capka.

Would be interesting if Kiffin leaves Ole Miss and ends up at Bama. Would certainly change the situations for committed players at each school. I think I read DeBoers has a $70m buy out, there are about 3 programs that could probably do that and if Bama has a 20m NIL it sure as hell isn't them.
DeBoers has a 70m buy out, I think they have to wait. Not many can do that buy out and then pay another 10 or 12m.

I wonder how much of our budget is spent on flights/car, hotels, etc. to visit prospects outside of the Midwest. We seem to be getting a pretty good return on that cost now, $ to win ratio.

Conversely, why is the cost so high for Texas A&M, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, etc. when they are heavily recruiting talent from in-state or a neighboring one? SEC hundred dollar handshakes?

A&M is fighting Texas who is also on the list and Texas Tech who will on next year's list.

Bama, Georgia, and Floride are also competing with each other for the same guys.
