They’re really working on it …

Is DeBoer still the coach come December is the bigger question … And a lot of people will say oh it’s $70 million buyout … With the way they can stretch the payout, it’s just another line item on the books … No big deal …

Personally - I think it’s likely that Bama drops 3 of their next 6 games (Georgia, Tennessee and LSU)… And @ Missouri is no guarantee … And that’s unacceptable at Bama …
I see 4 losses: FSU, LSU, UGA, and AUB.

Tennessee may be mentally broke rest of the way. That was absolutely brutal.

Would've loved either.... but Sutter was always the A1 guy. Very feasibly could've made an impact as a frosh (if it were Illinois),
What I've always thought is that he'd have a chance to start as a true freshman. That's probably not happening at Bama. Plus you get to stay home.

And I believe there was also talk we would take his brother, which other programs wouldn't.

no Ian Drury fans here? wtf?

peaked at 18? I call BS. overrated I'll buy, but don't understand how anyone can think an 18 yo HSer has peaked. much less fball coaches
I thought too that "peaked" may not be the best word.

And, never heard of Ian Drury. I'll check him out. Thank you.

maybe Mueller improved a lot since last year was his first year playing football. He was a complete non factor for St Francis. He only had 3 catches last year
Yes, he is now 6'6 / 225 and runs legit 4.61. freak athlete with elite size and skills.. had 5 td's last week. Colorado, LSU, ND it came down to / get picked Prime. Basketball focus till transferred schools last November and all in on football.. NFL body, now, fact. St.Francis non factor was one of the reasons he got out and went to South Elgin - his home school. Once in a lifetime player you get to coach

I get he has all the physical tools but it would be much more impressive if he was putting those numbers up in the ccl. I think most people on this board he put up 5 tds against Larkin

Sure, I'm all for fun, but I think you're severely underestimating the number of genuinely serious people who appear to be severely aggrieved and upset by their perception that recruiting services are actively and intentionally punishing kids who commit to Illinois by knocking down their ratings (and doing the opposite to other programs). People get really worked up about this and I actually think it causes them real mental/emotional distress! I'm trying to help these people!
I would argue the same about referees and announcers who are all clearly anti-Illini.

Lot of coaches think Anderson has peaked …

I’m not saying I agree or disagree … Just what the word is …
Or did you leave the room mid-sentence and they actually said, “Anderson has piqued … our interest as someone who may be a future NFL Hall of Famer”? 🤷

Maybe trajectory has leveled out. Not that he won’t get better, but his ceiling isn’t considered as high. And if anyone needs a definition of ceiling, there was an “engrossing” discussion in the bbal forum. 😁
