Even without the 5 in 5 the only one we lose is Beatty and there's this Trimble guy who I hear has a pretty bright future in a similar mold
Not for the whole game. Northwestern has beaten WIU and the original, bad UCLA. When we get a 24 point lead in the 4th qtr, we can avoid another X-type disaster by getting Luke out of there, and give Boyd a series or two experience. That will be huge for seeing what we have to build on for next year.

agreed. but even if Boyd looks like the second coming, I'll be shocked if we don't bring in a transfer QB. hard to fathom staff gifting QB1 to a redshirt frosh, regardless of how good he looks in late game cameos.
on a side note, does Hampton have a shot? he's more of a caretaker, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing (just not exciting). but you can win with a good caretaker

Do we have any elite defensive linemen visiting? The receivers and backs are great to be visiting. If we secure those, we'll continue to score a lot. , Until we shore up that defensive line...the big goals won't be achieved.
Great atmosphere and showed we had potential to beat number one. Pretty good showing.
