Thats the biggest investment in Illini history. I sure hope this gets un Fckd fast. Bielema is highest paid public employee in state. We looked no better Saturday than Ucla v. Washington. That's horrible folks.

Why is the budget so heavy this year? Is it just the revenue share or more NIL backing?

Is good we have money now, but a shame we didn't have it one year earlier where an equal spend could have put us in the playoffs

Maybe bring some of that SEC roster up here? I'm sure Bret wouldn't have any qualms taking food off Arkansas' table...

You also have such an advantage in your recruiting scout and position coaching search if you bring in a former HC (or two).

nothing would surprise me . but I always thought the main reason BB kept him on staff when RW left and then kept him around was his value to the recruiting process

Does anyone really believe that Mizzou wasn't telling Hankins how AH was viewed around college football? Do Eberhart, Hankins, Rankin, etc.. watch the games?

The reality is you can start or be an impact rotational player in year 1 here. And probably be paid pretty darn well doing it.

So if you are weighing the options as a recruit:

Immediate Opportunity (Illinois wins)
Money (Similar, maybe nod to Brand X)
Position/DC stability (Brand X, though a former B1G HCOTY will be your DC)
Head Coach stability (Illinois is competitive, maybe 15 P4 coaches as stable as Bret)

I would expect him to be very much in play when(if) Kiffin leaves Ole Miss for LSU
commitments aren't worth much more than the paper towel paper they are written on

Mom has NOT been a fan of the Lane drama … At all …

Bret making that call … Assuring her that she ain’t got to worry about the shenanigans here … He will ensure JC is taken care of …

Bret is VERY smart …

How many coaches reply to every parent that texts or calls them ??? Not many … Shoot - VERY few coaches even give their personal cell phone number to parents … Bret is intentional about it … Think being a father has changed Bret in a lot of positive ways …
