Seems expensive at a position with less need than others. Need to find and pay someone to throw that ball to the pass catchers
Let’s remember all the money we have coming off the books. Plus money coming in on top of that. Not to mention we did get a $100m check roll in earlier this year….some of that will be used for the roster.

I’m not saying we are or aren’t going after Marsh I’m just saying we have money to spend

None of the on campus QBs are good enough to at least consider giving them a shot and spending the QB money on extra good OL and defensive players?

Pritchard and Smith along with the other recruits would make a good foundation for 27 and beyond. Hope to get to the point where you don't have to go portal for O line.

I don’t believe we can go into the season expecting any of the QB guys currently on the roster to flat out be the opening game starter . that doesn’t mean one might not win it after all, but it doesn’t seem like the staff feels that comfortable to not bring someone in .

if you are gonna bring someone in, bring in a stud for a year .

I’m guessing the football staff is getting paid some decent money as to determine where the money needs to be spent and as seen in previous years……signing people from the portal can be very fluid.

Who will be our next Matt Bailey or Mac Resetich, or Tanner. We need to get someone on offense like them.

My biggest concern about the QB spot is that you can only play one and in the portal, win-now, mode, there is no chance to really develop a QB unless you are a top kid in your class.

I'd rather go to a lower-level school to get playing time and cash out when I perform well.

This is what most kids should be doing in today's game in my opinion. Go to D2, JUCO, FCS, G5 school where you can get live reps and then look to move up of you're good enough.

Mind you there are certain people looking to major in things that aren't football and the full ride is a good deal.

Thanks for a thoughtful response rather than a “sigh” that adds no value and doesn’t address something that is at least a realistic option.

It’s not out of the question for a highly recruited second year QB to start. It’s a realistic option if the QBs are talented. I think it not being a fair question points to the QBs have not impressed to date or maybe it is an option and we don’t know it yet. For the price of a QB we could go get some stud players which we need.

And if we bring in a transfer QB we are going to lose 1 or 2 QBs transferring out.

Lots of teams of had success playing second year QBs both in that year and benefit from that in the next three years. Again, I’m not saying it’s what we should do. I’m saying it could be an option.

Is Micah Smith a "starter from day 1" guy? I know it's very rare on the offensive line and I'm not underselling his long-term potential. Just trying to gauge his potential immediate impact.
