I'm just not worried about how this team is built at this point.- I fully trust Bret at this point. And honestly, my expectations are probably too low based on what I assume this team will be from all of the player changes (Luke, Jacas, etc.). As this last season ended- my initial expectation for next season is, just gotta keep bowling (aiming for 6 or 7 wins). So if I keep my expectations there, I feel Bret will accomplish those.

But I'm to the point where what Bret can accomplish here at Illinois, routinely, is far more than I thought could be done!

Whitman and Bret have this thing cooking- and that bodes really well for us as fans of a program that's been on the struggle bus for much of our lives.

Our 'esteemed' faculty won't even award him an honorary degree. Meanwhile...

not just him, there are literally thousands of people who have graduated at UI with a Business or STEM degree who can step up
I went to my nephew's winter graduation in Bloomington a few weeks ago and was surprised to hear the (correct) claim that IU has the world's largest alumni association...recently surpassing Penn State.

We need the other Larry to start writing checks (although he didn’t actually graduate).

Where are the Khan’s in all of this?

If you were to guess our budget what would it be?
Haven't yet read beyond this page, so we may already have the answer. My blind guess would be that football gets $15M of the standard profit share, and then we add another $10 from various NIL fund-raising sources. $25M total.

Great info here. And informative. Indiana has a lot of things "clicking" right now. The Cignetti/Cuban tandem if formidable.

Google it.

It would help if we can give him his honorary degree or some acknowledgement of his contributions to the University. It's much worse that it's gone to the faculty committee vote twice and been rejected in a very public way, which burns more bridges than if they never put it to a vote.

But to your point - Kahn could be our Cuban very easily if he wanted to see Illinois win a National Championship
So, we all know the Bears will be the NFC rep in the Super Bowl, but let’s say the Jags are the AFC rep and somehow (likely through subterfuge, cheating, and conspiracy) the Jags beat the Bears in the SB. Then, Shad is on such a high from reaching the pinnacle as an NFL owner that he checks that off his list and decides his next goal is an Illini natty and money is no object. Maybe?

To those who know a lot more about all these ever changing recruiting/eligibility rules, than I ever will. How close are we, to a player being able to transfer at the semester, and become immediately eligible, and able to play in the semi-finals games like last night or tonight's game ? Impossible? Has the second semester not officially started? Maybe eligible for the Championship game ?

Dang, Kicker too. So focused on DL I forgot about TE and K lol
We really need you to focus and stay focused throughout the portal! If you are going to ask Loyalty to play the first game, play-to-play 150 the same, regardless of competitive circumstances, then you can’t be seen on the sideline unfocused. What’s going to happen, right? What’s the effect going to be?
