Maybe I have been shell shocked over the last 50 years, but I would be happy with at least 6 wins every year with 8-10 wins sprinkled in every few years, and making a bowl game every year. Not a lofty goal, but man, we had a couple of bleak decades that have given me perpetual PTSD.

Doc - Mostly agree with you here. But can we make the floor 7 wins (regular season)? . . .

Amen brother... The problem we currently have tho is that the young'ens around here have never witnessed a 0-0 tie with Northwestern... Have never witnessed an 0'fer season (yes entire seasons without a single win), never witnessed back-to-back-to-back seasons of really bad football.... All they have seen are 10 win, 9 win seasons with back to back bowl wins over SEC powerhouse (supposedly) teams... So they have expectations of Cignetti type progress and Cignetti type success... CFP's every year, Natty's... etc... Some of us however, are really proud for the first time in decades (repeat: DECADES) to have an AD, to have a coach, to have a program that can produce better than 0-0 ties, and better than 0'fer seasons, accompanied by multiple years of bowl games. Would I love to win a Natty before I leave this earth ? . . Sure !... Do I EXPECT to win a Natty before I go... No... Would I be happy with 8,9,10 win seasons back-to-back-to-back ? YBYSA...

Dude!, interesting stuff, but read the forum. This was posted here a while back.

this used to be fairly common if somebody could not get playing time and their was opportunity on other side of the ball. If we are deep at offensive line I would be talking to underclassmen. Most big kids play both ways in HS anyway. I am sure Bret is considering this as plan C.

WRT Feagin - I remember when Ohio State recruited Erik Kumerow (Oak Park) as QB then switched him to DE where he was honorable mention all american, then first round NFL pick. I don't know if Feagin has agility and stamina to play on defense.
I could definitely be wrong but I thought when he committed he said something about wanting to play on the defensive line.i could be remembering it wrong or about another commit but I could possibly see it happening

I enrolled one year after the Rose Bowl w Grabowski and Butkus, and I lived through all those 1-9, 0-10 teams after the slush fund. I even sat thru a 3-3 barnburner at Wisconsin.

We are definitely on a roll right now and it rests on having a great coach in BB. I respect the job he has done and believe that we will remain competitive as long as he is at the helm.

Admittedly, I’ve taken a day or two off since the opening of the 2026 portal. Did we ever establish GShaw’s (quasi) identity?

- long-time insider with a recent name change, or
- a brand new insider?

The information has been very accurate so far, by my account. Much obliged for the info!!

Duke has amassed an extremely talented WR room, but their QB situation is less than ideal. Kind of surprised that they weren’t in danger of losing those transfer wideouts as this was happening — leaves them in just as much of bind as the program.
