5.1 GPA? I'm not sure how to interpret that... They used to max out at 4.0. Then I'd hear some schools maxed out at 5.0 giving an extra pt for AP. What would a 5.1 GPA as a sophomore based on freshman year grades even mean?
Some schools start with a 5-point scale, I haven't been in HS since 1985 and our district used one back then. Guessing some still do.

And then yes, as you said, another point for AP classes. In fact, back then remedial classes were docked a point on the GPA scale. Highly doubt that is in effect nowadays though.

Thanks! That's a crazy system I have never heard of or seen before. So just for reference, their 6-point scale is just for standard classes. Accelerated goes up to 7.0 and Advanced up to 8.0! So at his school, getting all B-'s in just regular classes is a 4.0. Meaning he could be anywhere from an A- student in normal classes or a B- student in honors classes.

Weird system, wonder how the school agreed an that one.
Honestly, being an admissions officer at a university must be exhausting these days.

This season is gonna be a case study on defensive expectations. There is no reason to think we are gonna be better right now on paper. Front 7 is worse than last season, back end is better. Overall no reason to think we improved yet and we got the same staff on that side of the ball, minus the big ten sack leader.

Gonna be interesting to see how short the leash is on Henry. And what narratives are going to be pushed in August once we see what the issues are. What the team expectations are given the talent level once we see it will be interesting too. Does Werner and co just come out and say that we look bad up front? I am assuming we won’t know until the first game. Sorta sad how we are in this position given all the momentum we had. We simply have not captured portal juice the same way we have in other areas. And it’s such a vital part of the sport now.

the only thing for us is , semester started this past Tuesday . there is an academic enrollment deadline for a player to be a student & particpate in spring practice .

but for a sr or super senior , thats not a critical thing .

Verbal commitments don't mean a thing. They're like a reservation at a restaurant that you make to ensure you have a place to take your date, but then an opening for a more highly thought of restaurant opens up and you book that one and cancel the other.

Verbals are just a placeholder so that you don't get iced out.
