Let's all meet in the middle by saying:

(a) this staff has less recruiting chops than any previous Bielema staff
(b) the current sell to come play for Illinois football is the best in the last ~50 years
(c) the sheer number of staff members allowed to recruit is going to lessen the importance of having a specific number of position coaches that are ace recruiters
(d) it's possible that Bielema sees NIL value in having coaches that are better developers than recruiters "stay here for a little less for better coaching"
(e) the staff will have another 3-5 changes next offseason so there's no need to get overwhelmed with perceived shortcomings of the current makeup
I like the spirit of compromise, please consider this a friendly rebuttal... :)

a) seems to be shaping up that way but I am far from qualified to evaluate and must trust in Bret
b) hard to disagree though the landscape is so different now
c) probably my biggest disagreement here, have experienced first hand that quantity does not necessarily equal quality
d) agree here but what matters is that the players believe this too; mixed results here so far (Luke being the best example of a positive outcome)
e) you say this like it's a good thing...another 3-5 changes next year does not instill confidence.

Lotta NFL connection with this new batch of coaches......It's a nice plus for recruitment...., swappin NFL stories in the locker room to a bunch of young players is a definite plus

This is the best news. For several of us, we know how good this kid is. Would be an amazing addition for us!! So glad that he got his offer.

His highlights are legit. I like this guy’s hype video. Watch the highlight against E St Louis. He ran away from everyone on that team:
we can never get all top 3 from the catholic league, but we need to start getting 2 of the top 5 every year

For C: The quantity is only observed from fans and not felt by recruits. If you are target-worthy recruit, you have one or two coaches that are your constant communication. This isn't like calling into a customer service line. If Art is assigned to you, that's who you are texting, talking, handshaking, etc.

For E: This is the nature of the business. Pull up a random Big Ten or SEC school and see how much turnover has been the yearly average. You can even pull up programs like Minnesota that have had long-term head coach stability and see how much coaching turnover still happens.

Commit to Mizzery … Sign with Mizzery … Collect all their NIL while still in HS …

Then ask out of the NLI and go to the highest bidder …
I hope that doesn’t happen. That is gross.

Ah!! Great point….I wasn’t carrying over the other thread. My bad, I forgot that besides Art we only have old guys that “just wanna coach ball” and not travel around begging players.
this is getting more and more like a political thread on X

Maybe we add some guys from their roster
With them coming from non P4, we would certainly see an increase to the number of pages on this thread.

You should know we should only add established players and coaches who have had success at the P4 level. I mean it’s not like any other schools are interested in those guys. (Heavy amount of /s here)
