My issue with early commitments is that they are just that, especially in Football. Do not commit to a school until you are fully ready and one hundred percent on board after you take your official visits. Nothing against the kid. I do not agree with the article that it's Illinois loss. It is the kids loss. Not even concerned about the quarterback position. ILLLLLLLLL for life.

He’s being offered more than double by Michigan. Hard to blame anyone for passing up that kinda money

One issue to me with an early commitment especially from the qb position does that a staff for going after a top qb. Did Lopatti tie Barry from pursuing another top qb? I still believe we are solid at the qb position for the future.

Eh, can't fault a kid for making a 7-figure reservation even if he swaps that reservation for a better one down the road. For the majority of kids, that first offer may be the best one. Kid blew up at camps and earned it

I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree on this. If the commitment isn’t worth anything to begin with, then why give it?

On a 10 point scale determining how old the kid looks, where 1 represents your normal HS senior, and 10 represents Greg Oden, this guy is about 7.5.

Statistical median (5) is Johnny Rico from Starship Troopers.

The best thing about Wonderful Monds IV is that he is the fourth. The fact that the name has survived that many generations in his family is a testament to the durability of making choices that make everyone around you say "well...that was certainly a choice."

I think we need to learn the lesson that these early commit guys just aren’t going to stay with us. This is what, the 3rd QB prospect that we’ve identified before anyone else that has decommitted/strung us along?

Illinois football doesn't have much money, regardless of what some have reported.

The bulk of the donor money is going to hoops.

I'd trade a 5-7 FB season to be national champions in hoops.

We're never going to be in the top tier anyways.
