Asked earlier but would be the first from that school since Josh Brent and HooMan. Both were NFL players and with those measurable and the ability to develop players from this staff, the sky is the limit.

I remember watching Brent in h.s. He was a monster.

Exactly ! The top schools dont recruit anymore, they simply complete transactions with practically unlimited bank accounts . Then we have to listen to their BS : " its all about the kids "

Hankins was the highest rated of the class at 159.

If this kid ends up progressing and is a top 75 kid, they won’t be able to pay him enough.

Bret is putting what money they have to proven returning starters. Which I agree with. Issue is lack of overall funds.

There are levels to the money being offered.

Realistically that’s how it’s always been. It’s just out in the open now. Hopefully some sort of a cap gets put in

If a cap gets put in that lets the cheaters cheat. There was always a cap before NIL and the cheaters cheated.

Remember that time. Zook was on a run. Brent was highly recruited but still a tad underrated. Hooman was off the radar underrated. Two NFL players from the same HS (In-state). That was a good time then if you followed the Illini.
