It's finally official!

I think we all knew this was coming, confirmed by our insider's hint a few weeks ago. While things have not always been perfect with Nike, I am glad we are sticking with them.

Also, a great sign the script Illinois was the primary wordmark featured in the video!

I like the Arch Illini decal. I’ve been a fan since the Blackman days, but never saw how that decal corresponds to a Chief headdress. Never made that connection.

Just personal preference, but I actually like what we already have more than these. The shoulder stripe on these ones is too subtle, and I like that ours features the combo of our colors so prominently.

Totally fair! We legitimately have nice uniforms right now. I think the font for the numbers look bad, but from far away it’s really not noticeable.

I just wanted to nail the “sleeve stripe” from the 90s with these and I felt like I had to keep them small to keep #’s on the sleeves rather than shoulders.

That one of Reseitch in O/B/O is great, and I like the 2001's, but we wont get that cause it's too close to UVA. Also, then in the arched helmet we get 3 different stripes with the helmet, jersey, and pants. Too inconsistent. Throw me in the never white helmet camp, just don't like us in them and reminds me of those awful Lovie games. Looks like Auburn, too.

Our shoulder stripe has grown on me, but if we were to go to a sleeve stripe I'd like something unique, subtle, and a design that can go with our pant stripe, and both our standard block I/ILLINOIS/script, and arched Illini stripe.

I’ve never understood the whole “inconsistent stripes” thing. I personally don’t love when everything lines up perfectly. Looks too cookie cutter.

Also - just because UVA has those stripes *right now* doesn’t mean they always will, and I’d argue over the next 3-5 years we’ll be a bigger football brand than UVA or Syracuse so for all I care we should feel free to more or less do what we want and people will associate it with us. Our current uniforms are a near 1:1 copy of Syracuse’s ‘08 uniforms.

I'm fine with the inconsistentcy if it's just twice not three times imo. Yeah I love the 2001 ones I just think Nike wouldn't do that since they just did it for uva was my main point

I have zero issues with different colors of stripes with the same style.

When we did the arched Illini helmets a couple of years ago, the style of helmet stripes differed from the uniform stripes. That was off-putting for me. Use the same stripe style with the arched Illini font, and I’m on board.

As long as we keep the same style of stripes, I’m good with different colors on the uniform pieces. But that’s my personal opinion.

I’ve been a bonafide shoulder stripe hater since this set has been released, but they shoulder stripes have actually started to grow on me (damnit, familiarity bias).

I do think if we go sleeve stripe, we need to go shoulder numbers like the Cowboys or else the shoulders look a bit too empty:
