I know a guy who knows a guy whose wife's sister's husband's Dad grew up with a guy who did it twice...only person on the planet to have that dubious distinction. Same guy was also a consensus Illinois High School All-State basketball player.

Quarterfinals versus FSU (Wife and family are longtime supporters/donors to FSU).
Semifinals (potentially) against the Gators (Where I earned my Masters Degree "a few" years ago).
Will be a very satisfying trip to the Championship Match if the Illini can make a run through the State of Florida tomorrow.

Who hasn't!
It's all about the matchup now. If seeds win out we are looking at Florida St then Florida to get to the finals. I will admit to being happy to avoiding NC and Vandy the only two teams that have a higher ceiling than us in my opinion. ASU and Stanford are 2 that on paper worry me also.
Florida St is tough led by a trio of JRs who are all strong. Our top two are certainly better there next 3 probably have a slight edge on paper against us but it is slight. Match play is just such a different beast, blow up holes are way less significant then in stroke and this could benefit somebody like Hunt who can't stay away from the doubles. He had 6 for the 4 days as much as the entire FSU team, in fact of all the teams advancing only 1 had more doubles at 7 for the entire team. but in match play that is just a single point and you just move on. Much easier to recover in match. I like buchanan and Hunt in this format to show well.

Yes match play is 18. If illinois win they play the winner of Virginia and Florida so they’d play another 18. Then if they win that they’ll play in the championship tomorrow around like mid day.

So far tommy is the only player without a birdie. If he gets a little hot that’ll be good for us. Not too many birdies in our matches. The other 3 matches have had a lot of up and down play and birdies
Piercen is playing well. Roberts is really good. Need Jackson to catch fire!
Illini dominating 18. Adrien birdied it for the first illini birdie of the tournament on 18. Tommy was so close 2 days ago. It’s a hard hole only a few birdies on it all week so far.
