At some point if we lose again you gotta question why the matchups always seem to be bad for us in match play even when we have the better seed which is lots of the time.

Coach small is a great coach. He might be really bad at coaching match play. Which shouldn’t be his job it’s not his job to figure that out. It’s his job to coach golf. But it also means an elusive Illini golf title might be harder to win. You almost want to hire someone just for match play and see if there’s any kinda data you can use to get the best matchups you can? Idk I feel bad. Coach small would have 2 championships in 10 years if it was just stroke play! Its ridiculous.

The problem is Small is a great golf coach but match play isn’t golf. Which is absurd.

Goecke has collapsed he’s played bad on the back which is shocking. All through stroke play he’s played great on the back. Carried us far but man him and hunts matchups boggle my mind. After stroke play we should’ve had the advantage in both. Especially goeckes.

Hunt gets 1 back, down 2 now, 4 to play. He has more of a chance than Voois against the National Champion I think.

That’s very true and it’s always been true. It’s ridiculous disaster holes are a part of golf. You’re seeing it with Virginia too who did the same thing as us mostly and is now Struggling.

poor Ryan just ran into a very on form golfer and couldn’t keep up. I think it’s down to hunt. Tyler has lost and somehow Jackson opponent just birdied 16 and is still in it.

Back 9 is hurting us so bad. After we did so well on it all week. It’s over after hunt loses 15. Need him or Ryan to win 3 straight.
