Yep. The ghost of Cliffmas past can tell you all about NBA odds.
Cliff had explosion and wingspan that Tilmon does not.

Also, I don't see anybody listing him remotely close to 260
More like 92% for top 10.
That's not the figure for bigs
S&C said 75% NBA for top 10 players. it's 92%. I didn't say anything about bigs
This is hilarious. If he stays committed to Illinois he is 100% chance to make it to the NBA. Funny how bias can play into what we think about a player.
If Tilmon plays at Illinois he will be a lottery pick.
If Tilmon plays at Miznoz he will live in a van down by the river. In Pittsburgh.
with any sort of improvement in college and barring a series on injuries I think there is very strong chance he at least gets cup of coffee
Would have told you the same thing a week ago.

This is exactly the reason I am not overly upset about the loss. Too many red flags here.I can agree with this statement more. But improvement in college and avoiding major injury shaves down those margins.
And lets be honest here. Go through the list of comparables to Tilmon who didn't make it, and you're going to find an awful lot of recruitments that look pretty similar to Tilmon's. 3 high schools in 3 years, decommitments, behind the scenes drama at every stage of the process, lots of different influences pulling in different directions, there is a correlation between that stuff and not living up to potential in the end.
Tigerboard is a bit restive about Tilmon's LOI release. Some chatter there that some of this has to do with mom dragging her feet on paperwork. Totally aside from the basketball aspect of this, it's heartbreaking to see what appears to be a genuinely tough family situation. =/
All clowning around comments aside (mine included), this part of recruiting does make me sad more than anything. I wasn't sure what was driving all the cold feet, but if its anything close to what's being described here, its more saddening than anything. If he wants to go to Miznoz, fine. Go. But at this kind of cost? That stuff will last longer than any basketball career will. I hope its not true.
For the love of God, will someone please pretend to be an insider and get some rumors started!
Really don't care what it does to his close ones... At the age of 18 you should know what your actions can cause. He did this to himself. Time to move on and forget this drama.

Porter is going to sign with Illinois, bringing Tilmon with him, as well as Brandon McCoy and Bowen.
Smith will pay his own way and walk on.

Go find me the position-inflexible bigs who are hanging onto NBA bench spots. It's different now. Bobby Portis is sliding out of the league and he's the kind of player we were crossing our fingers and hoping Tilmon might become.
Are you wearing a black shirt, though?
You are overestimating the extinction of big guys who aren't Garnett/Durant clones or freakish athletes. From the 2016 Draft
#11 Domantas Sabonis
#18 Henry Ellenson
#23 Ante Zizic
#30 Damian Jones
#37 Chimanu Onuaku
#40 Diamond Stone
#41 Stephen Zimmerman
All but Stone and Zizic have had their cups of coffee and are similar (not exact) to Tilmons skill set
So, if we finish this class with Smith/Hardy, Kiir, Bragg, and Bowen......would everyone be happy ?
