Anyone else think that Markese Jacobs gets recruited over by Kansas and ends up back on the market before it's all said and done?

Distinct possibility. Rough guess, fifty-fifty.

Definitely a possibility.

Chin and BU will be all over the Fire during the Live Period, if Jacobs opens up BU will be on it.

Best case scenario we take Jacobs, and Whitney for '19 and Okoro re-classes to '18.

Not so sure about how hard we'd go after Jacobs. We're not set up well for immediate tick and, if Miller comes (the following season), Jacobs is relegated to permanent back up status. Not a very appealing scenario.

Golden to OV at Illinois starting Thursday per Derek Piper on Twitter.

That's good news!

Glad to see that he will take OV . Really think he would be a good fit, and hopefully he is considering us. Wanting to stay close to home, and ACC thing, we are the other option. Not sure what effect this has on the Okoro recruitment, would think he would be 1st choice, may have a hard choice should Golden want to commit.

Time on this OV proves interesting. He comes fresh off Syracuse trip, hope we set table good. He would definitely see PT, in a active system. So would we say yes if he wants it now? Hmmmmmmm. Okoro are you gonna be our guy? Many questions, glad we can wait a bit longer.;):illinois:

This question has been asked and answered today. 100%, yes, we'll very gladly take Golden AND Okoro.

No choice. Illinois would take both. Golden is really good. Tough, hard nosed, mean streak, can rebound and shoots the heck out of it at all three levels. He’s a four. Okoro is a five. Different needs. We would definitely take both.

I saw him on Friday afternoon walking down Fourth St. from Ubben... if he's transferring, he's still practicing, working out, etc...

Maybe, it's like in Office Space, where they're slowly moving his locker to the basement, wondering when he'll realize that his scholarship has been pulled?

Chris Mack sets up visit with former cardinal commit, Courtney Ramey

Crazy

Think it would be great if CR signs back with L-ville. Seems it is down to MO, TX & L-ville with in homes this week. Guessing Oklahoma State has dropped off of that list?

Apparently Blake Hinson is visiting Seton Hall today.
Am wanting to say he was taking 3 or 4 visits with us being the last. Will it matter tho with the ongoing Golden & Okoro deal?

Given his stats or even playing time from this past year, guessing it would be tough to transfer? Would think he either stays on board with us or goes back home? Alternatively would think having Giorgi Bezhanishvilli on the team could make him a lot more comfortable, maybe build his confidence?

Okoro seems to think he is going to play the 4 in college. Even though I agree with what you wrote, way different players.

Call the positions whatever he wants to hear. Three guards and two forwards.

I think some people are assuming Okoro is more raw than he really is. He does have the ability to hit a mid range jumper, he does have a hook shot, and he can face up and put the ball on the floor a couple times to get to the rim. All 3 of those skills still need work, but they are there and they will continue to improve. He's even posted guard workouts on social media where he's handling the ball on the perimeter and pulling up for a long range jumper.

He kind of reminds me of Meyers in high school. Both were/are so physcially dominant that they didn't need to use much skill (even though they are capable)...they just bully people. But IMO Okoro will be better than Meyers was in year 1 because he's faster and stronger, albeit not as tall.

We gotta get E.J.! Sorry. No choice to miss on him. Okoro too, frankly. That'd be big waves in national recruiting to finally lock Illinois back up.

If they want to come here, we need to find scholarships for them.

The Season of Ayo

As impressed as the Illini nation was this season with Trent Frazier, I feel as though this upcoming season will be about the introduction of a once in a decade or so basketball talent in Ayo. My expectations for him are through the roof. He has next level vision and ball control along with good size for a college or pro guard. His shot is unique and might be an area he has to adapt to quickly at the college level but the other things he does very well will more than cover up that short learning curve.

I will be shocked if he plays more than 2 season of college ball. I go back and forth on hyping up a player so much. Sometimes you watch a player over and over and you realize this guy has the basketball IQ/talent to take that hype and then some and perform beyond it. I'm very glad he chose to play ball at my school.

I think we will see a big bump in wins this season because of amazing guard play.
