Ive said it from the beginning. Outside of the elite leaping ability, Ayo's game and body type is very similar to John Wall.

Broad shoulders, long wingspan and much stronger than their body type would indicate. Both are adequate but not great shooters with innate ability to finish around the rim.

This is John Wall in high school:

How anyone could draw comparisons from that to Ayo is beyond me.

Yea besides the fact that they have similar height and length there's not much of a comparison. Wall is one of the most explosive athletes out there, is a terrific ball handler, and has ridiculous court vision/sense. While Ayo does have a great first step hes not anywhere close to the athlete that Wall is so his game is much more based on his craftiness rather than speed.

You could maybe stretch and say both Ayo and Wall weren't regarded as great shooters out of HS but Ayo is definitely better than wall in that respect at this point in their careers.

The segment starting at 1:08 is just silly.

It seriously is. I don't mean to belabor the point but John Wall was the consensus #1 player in his class. If he had the option, he would have for sure gone straight to the NBA and the Clippers would have honestly had a tough choice between him and Blake Griffin. John Wall was Derrick Rose on steroids and with more size.

I love Ayo and think he'll be closer to Trent than Mark on that spectrum but seriously, before you throw out comparisons, please watch the tape.

He may be a little taller but I see so much of Schroder in Ayo and that is meant 100% as a compliment. Watch more of Schroder in the British Basketball League: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKveNAAhi6A

The ease of getting to the basket, the deceptive quickness, the strange but reliable set shot, the ability to finish below the rim but among size. Schroder was a late lottery pick and I think Ayo can be viewed similarly. What Ayo is not is the second coming of a genetic freak like John Wall.

We really need some actual news so we can stop with all these goofy comparisons.

I'm indifferent to whether or not we get Golden, but if we do can we please nickname him "Pony Boy" please?

Agree, these comparisons have definitely hit a wall. Can we just agree that Ayo simultaneously both compares and doesn't compare with Dennis Schrodinger?

Looking at film I think Ayo reminds me more of Shaq, just a bit shorter and shoots free throws a bit better.

Does Dennis have a cat?
