Everyone talking about cliff but if I did what Nunn Tate or black did my dad would of made sure I felt it for months. Sure it was tasteless but who really cares. Only care about who wants to be here

Sounds like a nice kid, the kind you want on your team. And he plays defense. Do we have a chance at him ?

A lot of dunks, but not much else. Per ESPN, he does have a back to the basket game. Anyone else thinking about a broad shouldered Mike Davis?

I would add; explosive around the rim, shot blocking, solid physique.

Shoulders like a baby Karl Malone

It would be great to have someone that just wants to dunk the ball! Heard today that Oklahoma is trying to seal the deal this weekend. Think it was Piper.

I like that highlight tape. He is very well physically developed for his age. Throw him in with Tilmon and we got two good bigs.

Scrolling through twitter this morning and there was a mike o'brien tweet. Nick Irving says if Josh Pastner goes to Ga Tech Charlie Moore will reopen his recruitment. He hasn't signed NLI so there's that

Saw that. Would we go after him with TJL on board in that same class? I'd love to have the talent and depth on the team just don't know how it would make TJL feel.

No, he signed. So he'd have to sit a year unless he gets a waiver for the coach leaving.

Students get out of their NLI pretty easily when a coaches leave now. He wouldn't sit out a year if he decides to go elsewhere, I would almost guarantee that.

As well they should. It should be an NCAA rule that incoming freshman are allowed to leave if the coach leaves while still under contract with that team..

I would say ALL players should be allowed to transfer without sitting out a year, but I know that's never going to happen. But they should be able to. If not, coaches should have to sit out a year. Why different rules for coaches and student-athletes??? Come on NCAA!!!:cool::tsk:

Yep, actually all I think he needs is a release from the NLOI from Memphis. Since he hasn't enrolled yet he wouldn't be subject to sitting a season. I doubt Memphis would not release him, but you never know.

dedric lawson, 6'9 AAC freshman of the year from memphis, is probably their only player that we'd have interest in outside of Moore. but he's testing NBA waters, and if he does come back to college, definitely won't want to sit out a year, and if for some crazy reason he was willing to sit out a year, he would have his choice on where he wanted to transfer to.

If Nick Irvin is this thirsty for national attention, then he just needs to get the h*** out of coaching and go try to be an agent.

Jeff Goodman is basically implying that Pastner to GT is locked... You gotta go hard after Charlie Moore. Love his game. More stability in the DIA than when he committed to Memphis. Yeah, Groce's seat is hotter. But he could play a MAJOR part in cooling it down.

I understand your argument that different standards aren't fair, but practically speaking asking a coach to sit out a year isn't possible. How could you ever hire a coach from another program if they had to sit out a year? Hire an interim that knows they have no chance of keeping the job and is likely going to get fired when the new coach comes in and puts his own assistants in place? It's just not practical.

I don't see us going hard after Charlie Moore but maybe that's just me.

Looks like OU just offered him in early March. If he commits this weekend then hats off to Kruger. If he doesn't, then there's certainly a chance.

The Irvings? The PG redundancy with Lucas? Neither should keep you from talking to your in-state Mr. Basketball.... Plus, we might be very much in need of back-court scoring next year.

Don't see how his game doesn't entice you.

4 years of Moore vs 1 year of Tate, no brainer.

I would love to take another pg. I just don't think there would be that much mutual interest which I feel like would be necessary for us to close this late in the game. It would be one thing if we didn't have a pg in the class, but combine that with Groce being on the hot seat and the question marks heading into next season, leads me to believe that it probably won't happen. I'd be happy to be wrong. Probably a moot point though since we're not even sure that he would leave Memphis. They freed up a ton of money with Pastner taking the GT job, and pretty much hit the lottery.
