2020 will be a 3 or 4 player class. Miller, Kalkbrenner, Curbelo/Watson and PF (Ambrose-Hylton?).
Things happen you don’t expect every year. But to get to 4, we are going to be losing 1 or 2 that we expect to be major contributors this year and will be upper classmen. Those could hurt. Your list would be a great class though.

One is Ayo going NBA. After that, transfers are the regular in CBB, so another open ride should be expected.

The chances of Ayo staying beyond his sophomore year are Slim and Nunn. And, I heard Slim left town.
Seriously, there is a high probability we will have four open scholarships for 20-21 with today's college basketball environment.

Well, this makes for an interesting roster construction. I honestly have no clue how all this will play out in the next 3 years. It looks like we have 5 players in the same class for the 2-3 position. I’m sure something will change, but seems odd to me. If we land Miller, which all signs point to, that only leaves 1 spot open next year. Having a hard time wrapping my head around that. Underwood has been talking about keeping an open spot for 5th year guys because you don’t know who might be available. Will be interesting.

Unless we stick with Kouma, in spite of his inedibility to play (depending on whether NCAA will allow him as a partial qualifier to practice, if that's what the coaches want to do with him at this point), we still have an open spot. Lose Felix and Kipper to graduation, Ayo to the NBA, we've got 4 rides to fill. Transfer(s) are likely after everyone figures out their plan, or not, to PT.

I think you mean Kouma's "inability" to play.

I don't mean to be the typo police.

Guys I think there is some confusion here on scholarships since the grid isnt updated. With the add today, we are full for 2019. That means Kouma is out, there is no ride, he couldnt get cleared. We currently have 3 rides for 2020. If Kouma comes back next year that means we have two. Assuming Ayo leaves. Clearly other people may leave and open up more rides next year but this year is full.

I'm hopeful, but neither Hutchinson or Grandison were exactly lights out shooters against inferior competition so I guess I'll just say I'm moderately skeptical when I hear them called "shooters" as to how that will translate.

I am with you. Transfers for Illinois have been disappointing in recent years..Ray Rice comes to mind as an exception. Feliz appears to be a good JC transfer. I am particularly worried that we are not confident in our three high school targets:. Miller, Kalbrenner, point guard. I know, Brad can count.

They will still have 3-4 scholarships open (Kipper, Felix, Ayo goes pro and probably one transfer). Not sure how the last few commits are relevant to Miller, Kalk and either Curbelo or Watson??

If these transfers are the bottom end of a "class" of newcomers in 20-21 filled out with three 4 star kids, then sure, whatever. If transfers from D3 and the worst team in low major are the highlight of that 2020 "class" then that is a tire fire.

Ayo, Kipper, and Feliz are all gone next year. if we get miller kalkbrenner, and watson/curbelo we are good to go next year

That’s the dream team... I just wish Watson had another 3” of height (but then he’d be a 5 star and would be at Duke)

Edit: was going to go with "no mascot" or "Chief" but haven't seen any Alma Otter references of late and hoped to get a rise outta some of y'all

Didn't Texas tech use a bunch of transfers?

Getting guys who can shoot with length to defend sounds like half the battle, if they can handle the ball, we will all be very happy.
It's been an interesting week, I'm going to stay optimistic :clappy:
You never know. C J McCullumm from Lehigh was pretty good too. What would the conversation have been if he had played now and transferred? I hope that happens and i an fired up about the Austin H
I am not implying that but you never know and if CJ had then people would doubt him just because of where he is from and not look at what he could doo.

If 2019 is any indicator, 2020 will consist of guys who probably aren’t even on the radar today.

Don’t get me wrong, finding a guy like Giorgi is awesome but it’s the exception not the rule. Way too many fliers in recent months for my liking. Could work out, but I don’t think the odds are in our favor honestly.
