Personally I always liked the way Louisville did it.
It's a little different at the Ville' these days....

Another factor is support/ collaboration from the AD. Sounds like OA would be supported/ have a longer leash; needed as longer rebuild seems likely.I think if OA leaves for DePaul he is really selling himself short. I would think he is smarter than that and would wait for a top school / program, in a nicer location that is looking for a top candidate like him !!
Sounds like the movie Blue Chips, 2020 editionA lot of times it isn't necessarily people getting cash itss setting a family up with a house or a good job or new car. things of that nature.
I agree. When Illinois wins the national championship this year he will have his pick of jobs, as may Chin.I think if OA leaves for DePaul he is really selling himself short. Man I hate settling.Guess we will have to settle for Foster and Hopkins to go with Mac.
For what it’s worth I don’t see DePaul ever rejuvenating it’s program or selling out that new arena.
At best they become a stepping stone, and find themselves back to square-one.
Their brand has been dead for 30 years. The new arena is realistically an hour commute from campus either requiring multiple transfers or a near mile walk from the red line. The city does not embrace DePaul where non-students would become excited for their success. It’s just not going to happen.
Not to mention there are no local rivals within the big East to stimulate excitement.
They probably need 10 years of dedicated brand building and outreach before they’ll be able to capitalize on a winning team. No way a good staff suffers through that without moving on to greener pastures.
It doesn't matter when he starts....Josh Whitman did work before his official start date and got us Lovie. True, it wasn't sniping a current, working coach, but still, work was done early...especially at such high stakes. So can't blame the guy for doing what's best for him and his new institution. I wouldn't care if a former boss I liked hadn't started a new job but knew he/she wanted me to fill a role on their team. Sign me up!Man this just starts to stink worse by the minute!
Peevy doesn’t even start until tomorrow, they pushed to get this done before then for a reason
Foster top 8 is Georgia, FSU, Grambling State, Western Illinois, and 4 pro optionsGuess we will have to settle for Foster and Hopkins to go with Mac.

David Jones in fact hasn't walked through Depaul's campus lolI just don’t get recruiting lol I mean, have you ever walked through Depaul’s campus? It’s awful, it doesn’t even feel like a college campus. I can’t imagine OA wanting to coach there.
... simply has to be a nod to his former coach, Nick Irvin.this has to be the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen... picking Western Illinois over us “to play closer to home” ???
Gotta think he’s absolutely going pro.
My question is....how does a kid get an offer from a lower rung D1 school, then 10 days later (without stepping foot on campus) decide that he's going to commit to said school? I just don't see how it's possible. I understand every kid has a different mindset, but come on...if it's a Kentucky or a Duke I would 1000% understand. But Depaul? Something stinks.
I have no idea how true the rumors are, but if they are true, it would be hard to fault OA for making the jump. First, getting a head coaching gig in the Big East, even if it is Depaul, is nothing to sneeze at especially considering the tarnish he has on his resume for his head coaching tenure at USF. Second, comparing Leitao's salary vs. OAs would indicate that he would be in line for about a 1M pay bump (tripling his salary). That would be hard to pass up. The worst-case scenario for him is that he flames out and leans back into his stellar resume as an assistant coach and jumps into a comparable gig to what he has now.I agree. When Illinois wins the national championship this year he will have his pick of jobs, as may Chin.
What is Shane McMahon known for.My question is....how does a kid get an offer from a lower rung D1 school, then 10 days later (without stepping foot on campus) decide that he's going to commit to said school? He had growth plate issues, so he wouldn't have qualified anyway.Foster top 8 is Georgia, FSU, Grambling State, Western Illinois, and 4 pro options
