Does anyone have any idea how many we are targeting to take in the next class? By my count we will probably have 4 additional rides to give plus Goode, for up to 5 new players total:
1. Ayo
2. Kofi
3. Trent
4. DaMonte
5. Unknown transfer/attrition

Is there buzz around Krutwig leaving Loyola? I assume he would only choose to come here if Kofi leaves.

So where does a class rank of??

Goode
Burnett
Polish Rifle
Melendez
Krutwig
I don't know if Burnett would come if all those wings were on the roster. Looks worse than the situation that he left in Texas. Trent, Damonte, Miller, Curbelo, possibly but not probably Hutch, a signed Goode plus two other wing recruits? Burnett wants to be the man and have the ball in his hands.

The buzz has been on this site. You see what happens is an idea takes root here. Then the journos and tweeters read it here, and in fear of being left out, announce it as if they are hearing rumors of the same thing. That amplifies the idea in our little echo chamber here until it’s taken for granted as truth until the very last minute when it proves to be false.

Maybe Jaylen Blakes is a possibility as well:

What college programs have been reaching out to you the most recently?

"Yeah, as I said, my recruitment is still open but the schools that have been contacting me the most right now are DePaul, Illinois, Texas, VCU and Yale."

What has each of those programs been telling you and what sticks out about them?

Illinois:
"Coach Underwood along with the Illinois coaching staff have spoken to me about how they see me fitting in with my toughness and competitive spirit. They play fast and up-tempo, they like to get up and down and score within several seconds of the shot clock and they really pride themselves on developing their guards."

It’s not super likely yet tho because we have not yet seen either projected lineups at each position with him in it nor minutes projections. That’s when it really gets exciting.

Burnett is a combo guard, sees himself in the Ayo role with Curbelo as primary ball-handler. We have room for that.

This whole fascination with Krutwig feels gross to me. This kid isn't in the transfer portal. He is actively playing basketball for a different D-1 program.
I don’t know about “gross,” but certainly silly. Especially when one of the things that was mentioned is he wanted to be closer to home. Unless his family moved to southern Illinois, Loyola where he is at or Northwestern is closer to home than U of I. But, hey, that’s what forums are about. I’ve thought all the time spent on speculation and devising scenarios for when postponed games would be made up rather than just waiting for announcements is pretty silly too. But plenty seem to be happy to do that too, so what do I know. I’ve just skipped over those posts.

How much closer to home does he think he can get? He's 40 miles from home now.

It's a recruiting thread so most of the content is going to be speculative in nature, but I haven't seen any indication from him to suggest he wants out of Loyola. He could have easily transferred this season and been able to play if that was his intention. Frankly, if he were unhappy at Loyola, I'm sure there have been any number of high major programs that would have jumped all over him after helping them to the Final 4 his freshman year.

This feels like hitting on someone else's wife, because we feel we are more attractive than their spouse. It's gross.

Can you imagine people in this thread's reaction if we saw UK boards going on about getting Andre Curbelo to Lexington to throw lobs to their wings? Obviously, UK would be a lot better if they had a PG. Doesn't mean he is in play.

Burnett is single and looking to mingle. Krutwig appears to still be very much committed to winning games for Loyola. Until he files his divorce papers, I'm going to think its gross.

Ok, ok. Can you fill me in please?

It was just a big discussion about whether Curbelo was a future lottery pick and/or how he could achieve that. This was all in the context of Nimari Burnett and any future point guards, so it started innocently enough.

Of course the important point here is that we play a relatively guard heavy lineup, so bring 'em all here, says I!
