I think the conditioning is great and needed for the B10. I am "old" and old school and I remember as a kid in the 70's there was no swimming on a baseball night. I also won't lift weights and during golf season. Work outs, touch, and feel are very fine controls to be consistent in any sport. I am sure Fletch and the conditioning program is way smarter than a random old guy. The recipe is condition early, develop touch right before season starts, then go let the kids have fun. Hitting shots is all that they are missing to be a mid tier B10 program.

Having Thad as a friend and knowing Groce before his arrival I asked John about this bulking up and his thoughts about losing touch due to the transformation. His comments were he did not think it affected the shot. Sitting across from the basketball team during football I met the Jordan's on their official 5 years ago. I have shook hands with Aaron every year since then and his transformation has been unbelievable. This is the reason you are sometimes seeing this 6'5" shooting guard rebounding with the bigs under the basket. This is the reason Aaron Jordan is just 4 rebounds behind Giorgi as the leader in rebounding as a shooting guard, leader in 3pt%, and second in free throws. Has Fletch affected Aaron Jordan? Most definetely and in a positive way, just Saying.

Can you see Aaron Jordan as a grad assistant? I can !! Great kid, Great family !!!!!

Thanks for this reply. I love Aaron and thought his 2nd half offensive rebound make a key difference in the Maryland game. I would also like to see him stick around the program.

The fact that we haven’t been able to secure a visit makes me think this could be accurate. We gotta get this kid on campus and have Kofi constantly in his ear to have a chance.
Patience Grasshopper,
It is virtually impossible to schedule an official visit this time of year due to Oak Hill’s and Illinois schedule. I would’nt lose hope because of what some some Pitt homer writes. Look how many times Loren Tate has been wrong.

Oak Hill's schedule is wide open for weekends of 2/9 and 2/23 and we have home games both of those weekends.

Don’t know where you got your information but according to the Oak Hill Academy website https://www.oakhillhoops.com/2018-19schedule they have games on Feb 5, Feb.15, Feb.16, Feb.19, Feb.22, and Feb.23rd.

You are correct, got mine off of Max Preps and it was incomplete. The rumored date of Feb 9th is still open.
BTW, not sure if it had been previously reported but Andrew Slater added a CB for Brown to Pitt on 1/20.

I'm actually not going to disagree with you. Don't know if he is a +/- for the team relative to another competent trainer. I just disagree with the argument that players should not do strength training midseason, and that this is a legitimate reason for poor play. Strength training has never been anything but positive for me
I may have misspoke at some point: I never intended to say training throughout the season shouldn’t occur. The smartest thing said about Fletch (including my drivel) was that our players have remained healthy. Kudos where due.
I think our team problem with poor FT late and jumpers is a combination of our style of play and the freshman not providing enough lift to relied upon. As that has improved, our early season struggles may disappear. IMO, better recruiting and our current roster improvement is going to solve this. Players will play hard and then get pulled to rest. Then be fresh again next rotation.
Our S&C coach has a cult following that is really kinda weird considering where we are and have been in his tenure. Not his fault. However, our athletes are going to work out and grow from age 18-22 no matter if it’s Illini Fletch or Irwin M Fletcher.
In short, I agree with you.
