Read an article on Casey and it highlighted a kid named Sami Osmani. Checked out his video and has me hoping that we recruit him as a walk on.

Wisconsin for a while was getting plenty of guys that fit his profile and finding success with them. First player that comes to mind was Zach Showalter. Wherever this kid ends up I’m interested in seeing how he does.

Little Wabash River , Southern IL.
Good catch, how could I miss someone 7'2''? lol
Technically from Florida... But Illinois family ties, didn't he? Like grandparents live in alto pass? (that's Southern Illinois for y'all up there)

This kid will play day one and will assist us relieving Giorgi, entry passes into both him and Kofi as well as raise our 3pt shooting. He was way behind any line he needed to be, the distance is there.
I feel like he gets lost in the discussions for our team growth next year. Curbelo and Miller dominate the discussions here, especially the whole "Is Miller coming if Ayo stays" talk, but Hawkins could easily fill our top need for next year (someone who can spell Giorgi at the 4 and play the stretch 4). Only concern for him next year is strength to battle down low, but he has range unlike anyone else who can currently play the 4 for us.

Hawkins appears to have a nice stroke, decent handle, and good body control around the rim. Has potential at 6’10. On the downside appears weak and not quick. Hopefully can improve significantly in those respects.

Hawkins isn't that highly ranked , but I think the Illini got a steal with this kid. His ranking could be due to being overshadowed by other highly ranked players on his team.

Yeah I don't get it. 6'10", long, skilled, good passer and shooter w/ touch. His dad was a pro and played with and is boys with MJ. Steal is an understatement. Hawkins would be the best true 4 on our roster right now...unless BBV is more athletic than what I've seen. 1-2 years in the weight room with Fletch and he's exactly what the league is looking for imo...

Really believe this kid fits a need and don’t care about his ranking. He will play a lot next year if he can play defense.

Here is an assessment to think about:

Superior (above avg) 3-point shooter with a soft touch. Shoots off dribble (can handle the ball in open court). Tries to play inside but strength is not there (Fletch?). Good athlete and a true small forward. ?

Rather him play 4 with Kofi. 4 guys play out and have guards PnR with Kofi.
