Ayo is scheduled to start back playing on Feb. 6th for the start of the CPS playoffs.

BU needs desperately to focus on guys like Mario McKinney and guards that can play this style of defense. Its a gimmicky brand of basketball and certainly not for everyone.

Ball pressure and denying passes is a gimmick?

I'm obviously not a fan of it with the roster we have. But it could be successful, personally I just think he needs the right players for it so that is why I used the term "gimmicky". Its not a defense for everyone

Since when is Maryland in the Midwest or Alford a point guard? Unless you're referring to Tyus Edny.

Midwest meaning the B1G actually not just Maryland (teams to play-family to watch). Alford not only played PG/Combo but can coach them up as well.

Actually hearing some positive "vibes" from Purdue camps.

Imagine what Painter can do with a top flight guard like TC. He seems to get a lot out of lesser talented guards.

He already has one in carson Edwards.

I was looking at Goodwin's stats and man, they are pretty impressive, especially his rebounding!

Oh god, please tell me we aren't back to absolutist statements based on pure speculation. We've come so far as a message board.

Baby steps.

IDK- That shooting percentage leaves a bit to be desired. Particularly 3pt%. Blech. He's at like 37% overall, 22% from 3 and well below 70% at the line.

Edwards was a 3 star recruit, I believe Espn was the only scouting service ranking him in the top 100.

Campbell is a 4-5 star recruit depending on who you subscribe to.

10 rankings nationally apart #72 Campbell and #82 Edwards?

http://www.espn.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/212319/carsen-edwards, not sure where you got your ranking but both ESPN and 24/7 have him as a 4 star?

Edwards will end up having a better career than Campbell. I don't care about rankings when it comes to these 2. Edwards is a player and will do us in if we are not careful when we play. Campbell is an aggressive player and scorer, doesn't mean one is better than the other. Gimme Edwards though.

Can someone further explain this one?

This poster was shooting from the hip because there are no consequences.

And there's no possible way to be that sure of Liddell's future, especially at least 9 months away from him signing on a line. If anyone makes definitive statements like this, 99% of the time they have no clue what they're talking about.

Nailed it.

Or if he requests out of his LOI and SLU grants him his release. I think that would be a real possibility given the situation there. It would only look worse for them if a recruit wants out due to the situation and they say no way.

The only way Gordon would be eligible immediately is if there is a coaching change and he requests his release, otherwise he is treated as a transfer.

That's not true right? If they hold him to the LOI then he will have to transfer and sit, correct. If he's already enrolled in summer classes or received scholarship money from SLU then he'd have to transfer and sit.

But if they release him from his LOI tomorrow, they can't put any qualifications on that. Unless they changed that since Tilmon last year.

I actually think schools can put restrictions on it, or at least thats always rumor. Thing is, if a school does this (I think Miss. St. actually did to begin with) the media catches wind and the proverbial crap meets the fan. So school generally let them go freely to any other university.

If the rumors of what he did are true, and the fact that he was investigated by the school as is likely about to get expelled, there is likely a good chance that they are mostly true, then I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole...even if he were a sure fire #1 pick.

Looking back at history I believe Arkansas went to two title games in a row in the 90's playing Nolan Richardson's 40 minutes of hell, which is basically the same as Underwood's system. Of course, you may be right in that it's not for a lot of players today who don't want to commit to working that hard for that long.

(Also look back at Paul Westhead's system at LMU, he wanted to score in the first 7 seconds of possession. They AVERAGED 122 ppg one year).

I don't care what you want to call it, it is fun to watch, and it's only going to get ....funner? More fun. More funner. Funner than before.

Any guesses what the Rutgers score would have looked like the old way?

Ew.

I agree. This is the most fun basketball we have seen since 2005. I want to watch games that are fast paced with lots of action. I would hate to be a Virginia fan, even if they are winning.
