Jordan Brangers with the following tweet:" These Illinois fans are pretty dope.":thumb:

Underwood's defensive pressure kinda forces him to play a lot of players. He'll play TJL as long as he's not causing major issues right now, I assume. He clearly WAS causing problems earlier in the season. And the rumor I've heard is that TJL and Coach have simply come to an understanding about getting through the season w/o more attitude problems. TJL will see minutes if that occurs. After the season, all bets are off.

Shame about TJL if true. Hope that he finishes this season strong enough and on a positive enough note that he might reconsider. He’s been really important, and I don’t think replacing him with guys who have no experience in this system is a good thing.

Pure speculation, but I wonder if this is also why Kipper is still seeing significant playing time. That kid has the worst body language of any player I think I've watched, and the fact that he just walks away from Underwood while he's getting an earful in at least two games now has to drive BU nuts. I'll be surprised if Kipper is on this team next year.

My only opposition for grabbing Brangers is that I would never be confident he would play a game here until the ball tips for the first time next year.

That is true......man, he has committed to a ton of different schools and has moved around quite a bit.

But hey.....we have exactly one player committed for the 2018 class, so it's not like he'd be taking our last remaining scholarship. If he arrives, he arrives. If he doesn't, well......back to other options.

He's worth the risk if there's any belief that he can light it up at the B1G level. I'm not expecting 20 points/game, but we sure could use a Jamar Smith-type player on this roster.

Because we need him. But as you mentioned, body language does seem very laid back. That aside, do not see either him or TJL going any where else next year. Both of those guys could cruise on the bench & roll out end of semester if that was the plan.

So thinking this mass exodus idea that gets posted are just speculation at the very best. The players are not going to put forth this sort of effort at this level nor would Underwood invest in coaching them just to part ways. Underwood also speaks highly of those guys at press conferences & do not see him as the sort that would mince words.

The only person that I cannot read is Finke. When he dropped that 3 & 1 at Nebraska was the only time I thought he could really fire up(emotionally), & show it. There was an article posted on ESPN this morning about GCU. I had no idea of their story nor Jerry Colangelo's involvement there. There is also a line or two about Tim Finke turning down other offers to go there(& yes I remember the stories from last summer). But interesting read none the less.

He has to play, especially with Finke out. I don't like speculating on who may be gone, but culture is big with BU and Kipper and TJL seem to be the guys with issues.

Players that will not leave/makes no sense to leave: Frazier, Black, Smith, Williams, Ebo
Players that shouldn't leave: Lucas, Vesel
Players that could leave: Nichols
Players that probably will leave: Finke
Players that will leave: Alstork

That means 4, possibly 5 scholarships

It's 1:45 and the bartender just flipped the lights on for last call. That usually means you have to choose between a lack of talent or a lack of baggage. It'll be a miracle if you get both.

I'd bump Lucas down with Nichols. Maybe bump Smith down to Vesel's level (highly debatable given his apparent love for UI).

Yeah I'd take Brangers regardless. If he fails to get admitted or reneges, so be it.

Is Jordan already gone? Should I search the board for news?

BU will keep who he thinks will fit his system, culture, and help us win. Therefore, everyone will be evaluated and is fair game. Now, we can speculate who will and should be back next year, but all bets are off. Remember when Groce came in and everyone was freaking out when Howard wasn't retained? The point is each staff has their own vision of the future and it's clear a few of our current guys won't be part of it. Just hope we can land players who fit with what BU is looking for and will bring wins. Can't wait to see how it pans out!

Just because you mentioned Groce and Howard, I've been wondering if anyone thought there will be any changes to the coaching staff???

Why does everyone keep saying Nichols may leave? He is a borderline starter who has had some really fine games. underwood is giving him plenty of minutes. he yelled at Nichols in the MSU game. Is that what’s driving this narrative??
