Doubt it is anything so imminent wrt Goodwin. You would have seen Meyer et al switch if there was something coming soon. They are tied in enough to know the result of an announcement and when it is going to happen.

My guess Goodwin confirms he will be visiting SLU.

KSDK (STL NBC affiliate) sportscaster Frank Cusumano tweeted that he believes SLU basketball fans are about to get some good news regarding Jordan Goodwin FWIW.

Well, I will really wonder WTF happened with that recruitment. I think it would be a huge career mistake for Goodwin. What credibility Ford has is beyond me.

This is true. For perspective, I graduated HS in 1966. 27 years prior to that would have been 1939. The only athletes from that period or earlier we knew, or cared about, were probably Jesse Owens, Babe Ruth
and maybe Red Grange. Anything else was just ancient history.

Fantastic perspective.

Travis Ford is quickly rising on my list of disliked coaches.

he was already up there after the OSU fiasco....Trent Frazier will be more valuable that Goodwin at the end of the day...Pickett will be a straight up better player at Goodwins position...

How can that be, I thought Goodwin is the next D Wade............

You know how this works. He was likely to commit to Illinois for awhile (or so we thought) so he was an unbelievable player. Now that he might go elsewhere, it is time to diminish him in as many ways possible! :D

except that i have only ever expressed one opinion on Goodwin..i.e. my last posts

Illinois is going full-bore to try to sneak into Kris Wilkes' Top 5, clarify with Nojel Eastern, and make inroads with Abu Kigab. As of what I heard a few days ago + some more recent intel, seems like Illinois is getting close to a point where they will still pursue Goodwin till its over, but put him in the "Doubtful / Questionable" category. Such a weird recruitment...Travis F'in Ford man.

How can we trust someone with such a low post count???? Calm down everyone you need at least 100 posts and the approval of the council to be credible.

Just fwiw this guy has an SLU slant to him. He did post this as well.

Jayson Tatum. "SLU is very high on my list with my dad going there and my mom graduating from law school." More to come. #Billikens

Just saying... step back from that ledge my friend

How about Justin Smith? Seems like a lot of his top schools have recently had higher rated wings/sfs commit?

And I think Goodwin could be a special player, but definitely not a must get at this point. If we close with Frazier and Kiir this would be a phenomenal class. Would also save a wing spot for Tim Finke.

I would love to get Goodwin, but I actually think Frazier and Kiir are higher priorities right now based on need.

True, but Kareem might be in that range.

This is just all one big misunderstanding. Goodwin thought he was snapchatting with DUSTIN Ford. It will all clear up, you'll see... :D

That's really disappointing. Guess whatever SLU is selling him is more important to him then what we have.

I am not gonna root for jgood or denigrate him.

Ayo, Tim finke! We got a spot open for you next year!

Close out with Kiir and Frazier and this is the best class ratings wise since 2010?

And it's not like this reporter has made a name for being reliable or even someone to pay attention to.

I hate to be the pessimist in the group but I'll believe it when I see it. Frank is a great cheerleader for the Bills but he's more often wrong then right so no matter how plugged in he is I'll wait to get too excited. Still, things are trending well.

^From someone on the Billiken board.^

I would be satisfied with Frazier and Kiir + another hopefully decent SF to close out the class. Would still sting a tho, as the class had a chance to be legendary. F'in Travis Ford.

Maybe I'm just hopelessly positive regarding Goodwin, but if this actually has legs it's gotta be a an official visit announcement. Still not a good thing. But I really want to believe even if Ford is in Goodwin's ear as much as we think, this decision will loom for a bit longer. Maybe not late October, but I'll be surprised if the tables have really turned that much this quickly. And if that's the case, I'll regrettably tip my hat to Ford. It'd be a hell of a steal.

Goodwin

I can’t believe a kid that was so worried about his ranking and what he thought was disrespect from scouts would want to go to a mid-major school that is never in the national spot light. He will be a complete unknown from his home state let alone nationally. I guess I will just say I will believe it when I see it.

+1, may also just be this guy catching up on the rumors that has many on here have fretted about for the last week.

I'm still not convinced this is over, but I wasn't convinced it was over when it was a done deal for Illinois either, color me I will believe it when I see it either way.
