Da'Monte also hasn't taken Illinois commit out of his bio, or changed his pin tweet from his commitment announcement, so take that for what its worth.

I just checked his profile and it still has Illinois commit and his pinned tweet still has the picture of him committing to the University of Illinois.

Yes, noticed that as well. I think a few recruits are wavering/looking at options or whatever you want to call it but there have been no overt signs that anybody has decided to leave. Can anyone blame some of these guys right now? This is a big decision and hopefully Underwood can convince them staying is their best option for now and their futures.

The next few days will be very big for Underwood and his roster for next season. If he plays it right this turnaround could be very quick.

I don't blame anyone for wanting to look when a coach gets fired, coaches are the #1 reason recruits come

I think DWill might be worried about the logjam at guard if Smith were to also commit

Another Crystal Ball change for J. Tilmon to Mizzou. Mizzou up to 60%

In our new offense though, having 3 guards on the floor all the time is ideal. Being part of that rotation would be fine. We need those 3 positions loaded at all times.

Is it possible that.....

as good as Illini fans think this recruiting class is......Underwood isn't necessarily worried if they all stay or go??

Does he think Tillmon has the skill set to fit his offense?

If he is really interested in Mark Smith, does he think that he needs/wants all of DaMonte Williams, Frazier and TJL causing a log jam of Guards?

I don't have the answers to these questions......but I'm not sure that he is as worried about Jamall Walker coming back and holding onto every recruit as us fans seem to be.

Could he have other recruits that he has plans for that we are not aware of?

Lots of questions......will be interesting to see where he goes with this.

I can understand your post especially if you saw him at state last season. However, I saw him 3-4 times right before that in both regular season and playoffs and he was fantastic and best player on the court each game. If you want to see his ceiling watch the YouTube highlights of his massive game at Pontiac. Oh, and if there is one thing I believe about Brad Underwood is he will get his players to bring the intensity which is all Damonte needs to do regularly to reach his massive potential.

If he comes back 100% healthy he will be the most athletic player on the team and with talent to boot.

There is nobody in this class I would like to see back out and certainly includes Damonte.
Agreed. We need some "freak athletes" on the team. His dunking ability and versatility would be welcomed. I hope he comes back stronger than ever.

Walker officially retained per Derek Piper. HUGE! Good news on top of good news lately, what a relief for once.

1) Possibly, but it's hard to nail down a person he wouldn't want. Trent is the quick, scoring PG. Damonte and Javon are the 'positionless clones'. Who wouldn't want Tilmon?

2) I'll wager he really wants Tilmon to come.

3) I don't think he's worried about a log jam of guards. Competition is good.

4) sure

Awesome. Looks like we'll hit the ground running next year.

It's interesting that Underwood met with Pickett today, and Tilmon tomorrow, I wonder when he plans to meet Williams? Will he meet Frazier with him so heavily committed?

How awkward would it be if Tilmon and Smith didn't come after Walker stays?
