Can anyone quickly sum up who is left in the 18 class that we are in on?

Not sure what's happening with Leron, but The more I think about it, the more it makes sense for him to go to Europe and play pro. He has his degree, is going to make money playing basketball for the next decade, and don't see a path for him to the NBA next year due to his height. He may want to play in the tourney, but if you get the chance at a couple hundred thousand or a chance to play in the first round of the NCAA tourney, I think most kids would take the money.

End of rough season, stock no higher than now, recently engaged, anger management under control...I'd say all signs point to starting new chapter in life and with wife...Italy maybe?:chief:

Jones and Kane both going to be on campus. Going to be a big weekend.:shield:

Hopefully, Ayo is able to come down for a little while. :thumb:

Ayo, Jones, Ramey, Trice, Kane.:D

I would say we may want to make Frazier being available more than Ayo for Kane...one Floridian to another and all...

Great we are finally getting some visits but it feels hard to believe being here on selection Sunday will be a good experience

Don't be surprised to hear ILLINI mentions on Selection sunday...as in recruits committing, yes plural.

Now my sources might not be the most reliable (fellow posters on this forum) but his fiance is a sophomore from what I've read. If true, that's a good reason to stick around for another year.

I'll play. I will be surprised. I could use a good surprise. I'm just hoping we don't get any bad surprises between now and then.

Well I'm bored at work, so sure!

Guys we seem to be actively recruiting:
- Courtney Ramey: Top 40 PG, don't get your hopes up.
- Tevian Jones: Cali wing, visiting this weekend
- Samba Kane: athletic FL big, visiting this weekend
- Valdir Manuel: NJ big, decent offensive game, plans to visit
- Austin Trice: JUCO athlete, rebounder
- Giorgi Bezhanishvili: Manuel's teammate, more of a stretch guy
- Frankie Policelli: 6'8" shooter

Other guys we've offered, but don't appear to be actively recruiting:
- Luis Rodriguez: Wing, probably no longer pursuing with Griffin onboard
- Maurice Calloo: Nah
- Blake Hinson: Currently a '19, but could reclass apparently

I know there are a couple more JUCO's we've been linked to, but I haven't heard much about them lately. Likely others I'm forgetting, we're casting a wide net.

Interesting side note that I didnt know where to put: tomorrow night I go to watch Michael Orris play in the NBA GLeague & saturday night Myke Henry play for the Grizzlies against the Mavericks. Never would have thought that was a possibility.

As long as one of them is Tevian Jones, I'm good with that. Will the other be Samba? I wonder if the staff is prioritizing him over Trice and Manuel right now. Or perhaps Trice moves up his decision date to take that spot (?).

Don't think Trice has that option...

I heard today that his fiance is graduating (per Piper on the radio).

Give kudos to Underwood if he can convince Leron to stay another year, because it's not looking good. JMO

I'd be surprised to see Samba commit that quickly, but you're probably right that Trice's commitment wouldn't be accepted just yet.

Based only on Samba's offer list and how quickly we worked to get him on an official, I wouldn't be surprised if he committed.

BOOM! Feed my ego.
Some immediate recruiting wins sure would go a long way in easing some concerns. I surely hope it happens.

Chris Fisher gave us a 247 CB for Samba this afternoon FWlittleIW

I think the whole Jones/Kane weekend together, might just evolve into something special for us all.

Ayo on hand for the Jones end, Frazier and Ebo on hand for the Kane end...both commit and we will instantly have a class we would all love including the Griffin kid also.

Ayo... stud guard
Griffin...proven shooter so far?
Jones...Athlete and shooter/slasher
Kane...Mobile Big

All new meaning to Selection Sunday for us ILLINI fans?:chief:

I doubt we turn Trice away if he wants to come. We are desperately low on PF and C. If Black leaves we have 1 guy (Ibo) over 6'5". I say we need the rim protector, but he needs help on the boards.
Uhhh... Kipper is listed at 6'6", and Finke and Vesel are both still on the roster...

DWill 2.0 might just average 6-7 boards a game next year. He is an outstanding guard rebounder and sneaky athletic as well. He averaged nearly 3 this year as a freshman on less than 100% leg and in about 16 minutes a game.

I see him making strides between now and then and the leg will be stronger as well.

Looking forward to his game maturation next year.:chief:
