Yes. Keeping Leron is the biggest key there.

Perhaps a rush on Kane is partially to help with persuading others to stay? Sure he's a big man frosh who will need time, but its got to be frustrating going against 7 footers all the time with little help. Can't teach height.

I would think so, but OTOH, he's been able to do it, and I'm sure he's a better player for it. He's a bit of an odd duck in that he's very good in the post, but undersized. He also has the ability to take the ball outside. Doesn't drive with athleticism though, and handles are weak (probably too weak for the NBA).

Without knowing how he feels about his personal circumstances, I would declare for the draft and get feedback. It may be possible for him to work on areas to the point where he could get drafted. Really depends on his goals and willingness to put another year in college when he may be more interested in getting his career started. Feedback could be invaluable.

This is the type of kid we have found to be the thorn in our posterior in the past on opposing teams. I want him, has a nose for the ball, confident and aint afraid to pass the ball but gets tuff baskets, and REBOUNDS!!!. Sign this dude up. I'm all in

Averaged 4 fouls in 17.5 minutes with 5 rebounds and 9 pts. Good to have but a role player. This was only for 2 games so may have had injury problem at this point, better scoring and less fouls previous year.

He looks far ahead of Ebo at this point last year. He would get a lot of mins his first year.

Steve Overbey article in this mornings Post Dispatch like a punch in the mouth concerning E.J. Liddel . He was covering last nights Bellevue West and Quincy game and in particular the comment by Liddell toward Martin

Here's the link. Hope it works.

Basically said "Hoped CM liked my dunk"..

Ok - HUGE reach into this comment. He was scanning the crowd to find his father and happened to make eye contact with CM and commented about it. Not saying he isn't in love with CM - i don't know - but this is not that blue thing above our heads rushing down to meet us.

It is going to be hard to beat Cuonzo Martin for a recruit in his backyard. He is a better recruiter than Underwood. BU will have to concentrate on other areas. Especially Mac Irvin Fire.

I believe this to be true

What stood out most is his passing out of the pinch post. Our passing out that this year was always a hand off or at least felt like it. He looks to have a high IQ not the most athletic, but a very nifty player.

That and the cutting without the ball to enable the passes he made. Good court vision and anticipation. We've left so many open cutters empty handed this year - but that was mostly from passes from the wing. That was getting better the latter 8 games or so.

Right now? Only 1.

But I think it's safe to say we'll have at least one other open up before it's all said and done. So, Kane + Jones.

We have two scholarships open at the moment. Check the grid.

Interesting article via Samford though dated, from Dec 2016.

"Last year, I had a torn labrum in my shoulder and I'd just had surgery on the meniscus," Walker said. "At my best, which was probably in the middle of the SoCon (Southern Conference) season, I was playing at 75 percent. There wasn't a point all year when I felt totally healthy."

"That's also one of the reasons I came here to Samford," Walker said. "I like a coach who's going to get on to me if I need it and to criticize me when I need to work on something and get better. That's what I expect and that's what Coach P (Head Coach Scott Padgett) provides and how he helps me to improve as a player."

So he's already had a major shoulder injury and a major knee injury? Hard pass. :tsk:

Sounds like a tough kid both mentally and physically. Would be worth at least a look, I would think.

DaMonte had a major knee injury and he seems to be doing ok.

CUTTING HIS TEETH AT PROVIDENCE SCHOOL
Growing up, Walker attended the Providence School of Jacksonville, which is a Christian college preparatory school for students from preschool to 12th grade. It is located on a 65-acre campus near the beautiful sunny beaches of Jacksonville, Fla., but is mainly known for having one of the best high school basketball programs in the nation.

Head Coach Jim Martin, a fiery, intense former marine, is one of the best coaches in the nation, and proved to be a perfect motivational figure in Walker's life.

As a senior at Providence School, Walker helped lead his team
to a 31-1 record and a state championship title.

During his time at Providence School, 21 of his teammates advanced to play collegiate athletics at the Division I level. One of his buddies, Grayson Allen, is currently starring at Duke.[/COLOR]

& per Samba Kane. Appears to have some larger schools taking a look as well.

2018 recruit Samba Kane will start his official to visit to Illinois on Thursday, a source tells 247Sports.

Kane, a standout at Melbourne (Fla.) Florida Prep Academy, is also considering Colorado, Arkansas and New Mexico.

The Crystal Ball currently has two predictions, both are set for Illinois

I thought it was automatic that Snacks and Miznoz offered recruits right after we did.... wonder when they will show up

So is Kane pro-screaming coach or anti-screaming coach? :)
