Tilmon came off really thirsty. Never was committed always angling for more of something.

First we've heard of the new staff recruiting Nobal Days, staff called him first day of phone contact with 2019 recruits

Cole Anthony may be the best PG playing in HS rt now regardless of class. Hope we can make a real run at him.

Staff has been watching Days since this spring. I think he has an offer too at this point.

I know we only have 3 Schollie's right now as it stands for '18, But I would really love to find a way to get Zo Into the program.

But I imagined the staff values those 3 Schollie's for 2018 but I have no inside knowledge to their thinking. They may add another freshman or transfer Big for this year, who knows!?

I just read an article about Alonzo Verge trying to qualify by taking the ACT test again. Illinois was not mentioned. Are we still trying to recruit him?? or Have we given up/lost interest??

You guys have got to STOP it with the Verge stuff. Look at the players we're pursuing in 2018 and 2019. Most more talented, without the baggage and will probably be younger. Give up on that weird pipe dream.

My three choices for 2018 are still Ayo, Talen, and De Sousa.

Like to read the article, but with his academic short falls it may be the reason for lack of interest. Unfortunately for him, but sometimes it's hard on these guys, but school work does have to be done. Illinois is academic leader , for some the entrance requirements can't be reached. Hope the best for him, but I'm sure the Staff will make the right decision should he qualify. Academic redshirt?
As for new recruits after the last 2 weeks, if they have someone in mind , we might hear about , or we might not, but with what we just got as newbies, again, I trust their judgement.;)

It wasn't really an article---Verge was mentioned in this article:

Just scroll down to "Verge update".

The only reason that I asked about Verge is that Verge is still listed in the Illini Scholarship Grid as someone who we have offered a scholarship to. In fact, on the latest grid, he is the ONLY uncommitted Illini offer left for the '17-'18 recruiting class.

The new staff hasn't offered him and don't believe they will.

Horton has a Hoop!! Like the latest video.

Those who have followed THT, how does his game, size, skills compare to Jordan Goodwin and Malcolm Hill at about the same stage. Goodwin appears to be better inside, THT seems to have a better perimeter game. Like THT professionalism vs JG, never a fan of his antics. I remember Malcolm Hill being very slight at the same stage but effective. THT appears like he has the size to be effective early, similar to Kipper.

Regarding Alonzo Verge, I agree that ship has sailed. Putting our future in Smith, Frazier, Lucas, and Damonte. I'm good with that group, can add others in '18 and '19, but that group is good for next two years without necessary adding to it. But will gladly take THT and AYO.

If it is true that the new staff has no interest in Alonzo Verge, then maybe the operator of the Illinois Loyalty Scholarship Grid should take Verge's name off the 2017-18 recruiting list of offered players (blue box with white letters). If he does not want to do that, I would like to know why.

As soon as the roster is finalized (and I don't think it is yet), I'll be deleting the whole column of recruits. As they say, recruiting is fluid.

Finding out that offers have been made is relatively easy. Determining if they are no longer valid is pretty difficult.
