Liddell and Okoro side by side. Okoro is listed at 6'9" Liddell looks 6'6" to 6'7" to me.

Another look at Adam Miller:

I would not be shocked at all to see EJ win MR Basketball this year, I said last year he was the most important instate recruit out of 17,18 and 19 and I still believe it to be the case, The young man is just and all around good player. I also believe Miller is already better the AYO and getting to play with him this year is only going to help make him that much better of a player. If we can get those 2 and add Okoro in the couple years who know how good we can be, but all that is a ways down the road.

Miller is very smooth, he looks to be much more polished offensively, however, not as fundamentally sound as Ayo. Either way lets get both with Liddell and Okoro and enjoy!

Miller is certainly flashy
He's got too much hot dog in his game for my taste, but damn is he talented! I can get over it.

Feel pretty good about him becoming an Illini. I'd imagine Underwood has methods of getting overly flashy play eliminated from a players game.

Yeah, on the one hand, I know that Underwood must be excited about coaching exceptionally talented players. On the other hand, I'm curious how players like Ayo and Miller will take to Underwood's coaching style.

I don't get the feeling that Underwood is a fan of style and flashiness. Will be interesting to see how he adjusts and vice versa.

I think just the other way around when it comes to BU, I think the more flash and style the better. He wasnt them all to have swagger. They will just have to do it without screwing up, and he will be happy with it. When they do it and start screwing up then he will get it under control I believe

In the words of BU, "You can be flashy in the first 7 seconds. The rest of the shot clock is mine"

#137 Composite, #158 247 :tsk:

I'm guessing those numbers will be changing very soon.

If by soon you mean next summer. Rankings rarely change outside of the two main AAU "seasons" (spring/summer). For the record I agree he is criminally underrated nationally.

Do you think Cal or K are easy on all of those 5 stars on their roster. If they are serious about basketball they will be absolutely fine with Underwood's coaching. If they are not they likely will never play at UI. The good ones understand coaching makes them better which sets them up for success at the next level.

I would disagree with him being better than Ayo. His dribble is way too high and loose. His body control is not great which will hurt when he is going up against college sized bigs in the lane. The good news is there is a ton of potential and he is a 2020 recruit. Tons of time to work things out. There is a difference between Harlem Globetrotters and NBA and that is basically the story here. He can get away with playing like a Globetrotter for now but not for long.

Rocking in my chair this morning on this beautiful sunshiny day. I am laughing at people saying Adam Miller is too flashy. This kid will be a star. His handling, vision and ability to create on offense are absolutely perfect for the college game. He is more athletic than Ayo.

Anyway, he will look great in the orange and blue. This season couldn't have played out more perfectly so far. We are making noise in recruiting. Just remember, it really pays to play those freshman, having them succeed is just the cherry on the top of that big ole sundee.

Ohhhhhhh Happy days are here again!

Just for the record, I never said he was "too flashy." I just made the observation that he is flashy, which, for better or worse you can't deny after watching that video.

My favorite Illini of all time is Frank Williams, btw. I have no problem with guys who have a little style to their game

One time Larry Smith came down on the fast break and threw a perfect behind the back pass to Battle for a dunk. Lou Henson jumped up and immediately yanked him from the game. Afterward I asked Lou why he pulled a guy who made a great play and ignited the crowd. He said "I've only seen two guys I'd let throw it behind their back, Magic and Maravich, and he ain't either."
