Tevian Jones is fine. I just don't see how a wing is needed unless he is a really good shooter.

A big is obviously priority #1 but you never say no to an athletic wing that can defend multiple positions. He ain’t a bad shooter, either.

Whitney is going to be a very hard pull. No clear path to significant minutes as a freshman. Can't assume he'll be an Illini.

I don't think anyone on Underwood's team has a clear path to significant minutes. You play well, you play significant minutes. You don't play well, the minutes dwindle.
Look at the stats for the year. The hot hand or steady hand or max effort player or smart players play. Those that make mental mistakes or lack effort or just aren't playing well for whatever reason tend to see their minutes reduced.

Illinois wants Jones badly. Far more than Thamba. Different position, of course, but a much higher priority. I don’t think Thamba is even their number one target for 2018 prep bigs. I still think it will be a plug and play fifth year guy to team with Finke and Black. Then Okoro and Liddell the next class if all goes well.

This was actually said by Derek Piper on the Tay and Carp radio show tonight, too.

This would be my ideal scenario. Getting a Sam McLaurin type for next year would be huge for the frontcourt.

Hoping we can pull in Jones. You can never have enough athletic guys on the wing, especially one who seems to be rising in the rankings like Tevian.

Dosunmu’s dad says he has a Grade A sprain and is day to day.

Morgan Park’s Ayo Dosunmu is on crutches, not playing tonight against Hammond at the Big Dipper.

Anyone know if that's an ankle sprain or a knee sprain?

I hope they're cautious with him. Sprains need a lot of time, and are prone to reinjury. Seems to me that if he's on crutches, he's not day to day.

I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as a Grade "A" sprain. I think they are grades 1,2, and 3. So I'm not sure what is meant by grade "A"?

Liddell and Okoro have a very clear path to significant minutes from the get go. Their table is set perfectly. I'm sure they're abundantly aware of that.

Yes, clearly, performance matters. Particularly with deep teams. Regardless of who's coaching.

When Liddell and Okoro come in, Ebo and Matic will be juniors. One of them, if not both will be playing more minutes. There will be rotational minutes for sure for Okoro and EJ, but I think Ebo will be a force by then and Matic could be a solid contributor as well.

Uh, what?

We desperately need a wing in that class. We needed one in 2018 and any we get now isn't going to scare off Whitney.

GMAB. I'd very much love Whitney in O&B. The question isn't our desire, it's whether Whitney will choose us. Unless you believe that Nick Irvin and company will deliver Whitney, I think the field is a safe bet here.

The kid comes back to Chicago to play in the summer for Irvin. Antigua has NY/NJ connections and I think with the Ayo THT situation Irvin owes us one, or two: Whitney and Miller

I think we stand a good chance for Whitney.

I think Miller is a strong lean for us with or without Irvin. He's looked up to DaMonte forever, and will still be considered part of the Peoria Pipeline as well. Playing for Irvin doesn't hurt, though. LOL

Okoro was a beast today. Just amazed at his athleticism. Underwood was front and center to watch a dominant performance. 22 points, guessing he had about 15rebs.
