I missed where he threw it out on Snapchat, IG, Twitter, FB etc, without permission of those involved. This is a message board for Illini fans, not a social media platform used by billions of combined people. A relatively small number of people know about this, compared to the number of people who will know when Landers puts it on his social media. Cash has been 100% on his calls as far as I remember. Seems like exactly the kind of guy we want to run off.

This isn't a premium board. This is a public site for anybody/all to see.
If he wants to put out information winking and hinting that we're in great shape, that's one thing.
But suggesting that he has in fact committed to us steals the kid's thunder. And you know what? Apparently Cash even agrees with that, considering he apologized to the Nolley family for putting that information out there. I give Cash kudos for that.
There needn't be any witch trials here. I would hope Cash doesn't leave this board because of this. But I hope others who do find themselves with access to inside information take a more cautious approach. Unless your source is the kid himself, I would hope that we all allow these kids to announce their decisions on their timeline. And according to Landers Nolley, that timeline is Halloween.
We adults should be able to respect that.

The facts are Nolley is still making OVs and having in-home visits. He's indicated he plans to announce a decision in about 7 weeks. Shouldn't that speak louder than "inside info"? The reality is nobody on this board is confident on what he will decide. Common sense tells me that if a player is ready to commit that he will want to assist in recruiting other players to strengthen the program. There are no advantages of remaining silent for that period of time. Of course, we don't know the behind the scenes conversations between the guys we are recruiting, but it's virtually certain that, at best, a few players may be leaning in our direction, but at this point, we have no guarantees. Surely, that's a lesson understood by anyone who follows recruiting.

As usual the whiners complain about no tangible info on recruiting, then when a reliable source gives solid intel they run him off by whining he is stealing the recruits thunder !!

I don't post on this board very often but I read it every day.
We finally get a poster 1. Whose track record is accurate, 2. Who seldom posts anything, 3. Who doesn't post some stupid emoji every fifteen minutes so we know he's still on the job and 4. doesn't try to rub our noses in the fact that he just might have inside information. And what do we do? The predictable. We attack him for doing this. Most of the posters here just want some info in the midst of the pages of BS, the others need to grow up.

Minor, but very important, correction: not we, rather one poster. Other than that, spot on!
Her and Nolley are going through a rough patch the last 36 hours or so.
Chiming in to say thank you for posting, it is really the only reason I come to this board - for actual information. mdonsbach can take a dump and not look at stuff if he doesn't want to. I hope you continue to give information to the rest of us impatiently looking for it - much of us lurking and not posting.

There's a lot of tangible info on recruiting on this website. Indy's post about the staff getting an in-home with Ayo today, for example.
Lots of people -- Cash included -- have provided a lot of really interesting and useful information. It's what makes this board better than its competitors.
The problem is, too many people aren't patient enough to let these kids go through the recruiting process. They want answers now. Even if it means scooping the kid.
Agree wholeheartedly that Nolley would be a fantastic get. Hope he comes here. We'll know for sure in about 7 weeks.

First off let me say I love what Cash brings to the board and really, really hope he/she decides to stick around. 2nd I do think there are people on the board who complain about getting info and that's very annoying.
That said the poster Cash is calling out I THINK was questioning Cash's source's reasoning, not Cash. I read it as "What would happen that a Cash's source would give the okay to spread the info on a message board?" or "Who is this person that they're in a position to give the okay to give out the info?" Not "Why would Cash think it's okay to give out this info" Maybe I read it wrong.

The problem is when big mouthed posters get privy to accurate inside information on this board, they run in somebody's DM's or go find a players Twitter feed! That's when Posters, Illini fans more specifically, should ashamed of themselves!
