Very exciting to see a post that a boat-load of talent may be joining. Would love to see the young guys thinking about it this way as well --even recruiting as a team effort!

Conventional wisdom all along has been Illinois and Xavier but Wake has certainly got a great class going and all they need is a pg. I'm sure Manning and Wake will be pressing hard next weekend.
But if you're asking me, all I can say is I have no idea where Ayo ends up. Everybody seems to think he's a done deal to them.
According to the 247 class calculator, a class of Ayo, THT, Nolley, and Castleton would give us 59.16 pts, which is currently second only to Arizona (at 61.63).
If there is a better class even remotely available to us, then there must be a surprise in store.
That same 59.16 figure would eventually settle in the 18-25 range once all the uncommitted players pick a school. The "we'd be the No. 1 class" comment is absolutely hyperbole, but a lot of players make similar statements so it's whatever.
If anything, the comment is important because it basically means a group of 3-4 players have been talking to each other about Illinois.
Edit: My bad, just noticed you clarified after bigruss22 basically said the same thing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wake is going to get Devoe for two reasons:
1. They'll take whichever PG wants to come first. Devoe is likely deciding first. Bird in the hand... yada yada yada.
2. Devoe is more of the classic PG with a strong outside shot versus Ayo's playmaking. With the athletic wings committed already, an outside shooting threat to open the lane is probably the most valuable thing the PG could add.
Note this doesn't take into account the likelihood of WF even being able to woo Ayo (which varies depending on who you ask), just that they're likely going to remove themselves from consideration before even seeing if they could.
Well that's a plus.#Illini priority target Colin Castleton (@Castleton_) tells me he has cancelled his Purdue OV.

I don't know if I would interpret it that way considering he just had his visit to Florida.
