Let me clarify, we backed off rexruiting him heavily because he did not have what it takes academically to be on scholarship at Illinois, and two his attitude is me first me me me me.. He is not what we need on this team. Our team thrives on being EVERYDAY Guys ty ty is not... At best he wouldve played one year and transferred had he met academic standards..
To answer your other question..
I dont personally hope anyone transfers ever unless its to Illinois, I like the hometown everyday hardworking kids however what is in best interest of the kid and the school is fine by me.

Just 4 years ago I would have agreed with you however, we have a great staff here and our staff can recruit with the best of them.. You cant just throw in the towel every time the bluebloods come knocking you have to fight otherwise you dont land the ayo dosunmus of the world, or the kofis or even trent for that matter... Eventually it pays off... I can assure you ty ty was a priority until he basically said he wasnt interested in doing what it takes academically to enroll and he definitely was not going somewhere he had to compete for a starting job.

Ayo had ties being from Illinois. Kofi was developed by the staff you and I both believe in...all I'm saying is we couldn't just wait on TyTy, we needed to move on but it sounds like our staff was already aware that he wasn't going to be able to cut it academically. TyTy is starting wherever he goes

Just had the privilege of speaking to someone who (knows things)
Regarding Ty ty we fell back from him.. (Academic) and attitude issues..
Damonte is seriously considering comig back now that trent is back, and I'm being told the miller decision may hinge on montes decision.
I.e. monte comes back then the odds of miller coming back are much much better than if he doesnt.
It is believed kofi will declare on the next few days but he will RETAIN his eligibility...
G.B. is probably going overseas...
Also we will probably see a few more names going into the transfer portal over the next week.
Hang on tight gentlemen and ladies these next few weeks will be INTERESTING to say the least.
This seems like an odd career move if his main reason for checking out other programs is his usage on the Illini. But I'll take it.

You saw The Yardbirds? Was Beck w Page?
You must realize....this was waaaaaaaaaaay before computers. I had no idea until they came on stage (Aragon Ballroom in Chicago) and Jeff wasn't there...I was upset! Jimmy was playing the guitar between his legs and behind his back. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The stage back then was only 2-3 foot high...and no seats. You could stand within 3-4 foot of the band. When the show ended I still didn't know who Jimmy was. Read it the paper review the next day. (Jeff had left the band...no pc to help me find out till I got there.)

Keith Relf was a dynamite harp player and vocalist. Shame you missed Beck. Seriously underrated band.

On the hoops front: staff has recruited very well of late. Love that we have 2 '22s already.

I'm 72 years old. I never even HEARD the word BLUE BLOOD until a couple months ago. Blue blood/black blood or red blood...if they make the top 25 most years...considering there are 100's of college teams...they are a heck of a lot better than Illinois. Even Ky./MSU or NC don't make the top 25 every year and they are considered your so called blue blood.. To me...Florida/BYU are blue bloods. IF Loyola can make the tourney 2 years in a row...Florida-BYU are blue bloods. I have NO creditability...thats why I post articles from OTHER PEOPLE. Illini are second to me...music first.
Where did you see The Beatles?

Not sure of the accuracy of this post, but it makes total sense. I'm 100% onboard. Given where things stand at this very moment, everything mentioned is logical and where I'd probably guess that things stand. We're probably only half done with all the roster movement.

Kofi, Adam, DaMonte and Tre (for Hamlin) and we have the potential to get a double bye in the Big Ten Tourney.

Did anyone ever confirm if Plummer eats one of the 13 scholarships given his super-senior status?

I think we would be more promising than last year if that all happened. Tre, Plummer, Hutch, Payne, the freshman>Ayo, Giorgi, Hamlin.

The Beatles were at the Chicago Int. Amp. in August of 1966. They could give Chicago ONE day...so they had 2 shows...3 & 8...I had the 3pm. What younger people don't realize: The Beatles at that time were a GIRLS band. Almost 100% girls at the show. Thats why when I went back to school I could not tell anybody (especially guys) because they would laugh and make fun of me. She Loves You Yea-Yea-Yea or I Want to Hold Your Hand was NOT for guys. The guys never started to come around until Sgt. Pepper or Abbey Road. I don't think the Int. Amp. is even standing anymore.
