Was supposed to be announcing at noon today. The board has said Alabama for a while now. I know I said it weeks ago.. things have been pretty quiet on Nimari. I've heard nothing
Noon Pacific time, I believe. And, yes, like many others I'll be shocked if he selects the Illini.

Wonder if the wording is a hint: Noon Pacific time? Since Arizona is out, I think he's leaning towards UCLA.

What I never thought about is Nimari wants the ball in his hands so bad right? Well Alabama has JD coming in & he will not sit on the bench. ⁵ star guard & he will have the ball. I don't know who is more confusing Miller or Burnett

Where Nimari wants to go and where Nimari is going to commit to today are not the same school... Nikki B is running the $how.

so many names and information bouncing around. Just wondering what is the consensus on who our next commit is, be it high school or portal transfer.
I'm assuming Podz is the leading candidate, but anyone else solidly leaning our way???

if we miss on nimari, tyty, franklin, and miller transfers there is no way to spin it other than a disappointment. coming off a season where we finished with a #3 AP ranking and have a ton of playing time to offer at the guard position, the excuses that we have used in the past aren’t really applicable anymore

Yes, because we know playing time is the only thing that is dangled in front of these kids and their families. Look no further than Burnett to Alabama. If the staff whiffs on the targets you mention and Miller transfers, it’s on to the next. You’re also discounting the Podz recruitment. No sit out year has completely changed the game. We also have two good looking 22 commits that we’re obviously impressed by what Underwood et al. are building.

This is only the beginning of what will be an insane offseason of movement and I imagine the staff has a few things up their sleeves that aren’t even on this rabid board’s radar.

I would only edit this to say, if we don't get another talented combo guard, it will be disappointing. With 1200 players in the portal, it could certainly be someone else that fills that need.

Not ranked high....but I LOVE this guy! These guys calling the game are going NUTS! Watch 4+ minutes video:
That dude is already built for college and in that video he is only a junior.. Love it.. because I want us to physically look like baylor did, does

A little disappointing? Sure. But new names and fresh optimism have a way of popping up after misses. We could still win a lot of games without those four players specifically. The transfer portal is probably not done churning yet, and if a PG who is currently not on our radar suits up for us next year and keeps us humming, I'm not going to care very much about the name on the back of their jersey.

Agreed. This reminds me of when people said if we don't get Ej Liddel or Oscar Tshiebwe, it's the end of the world. Well, we got Kofi. Players come up. Let's wait till ~July to fully assess where our team stands.

I believe Illinois was ranked #2 (ahead of Baylor) in the final AP Poll that was released before the NCAA tournament on Mar. 15. Illinois was ranked #8 in the final USA today Coaches Poll that was released after the NCAA season concluded on Apr. 6.
