Casey has been highly rated for a while in the area. He has a tendency to be kind of passive sometimes. He reminds me of Mike Shaw. Good player, skilled but not dominating. Maybe things will change next year with a better surrounding cast and tougher competition like he had his freshman season.

Corhen: kid has the skills to be a 4. Not saying he can't play 5, but 4 is his ticket. FWIW, I think he can be an high impact PF for us (and fill in at the 5, as necessary).

Agreed. The kid can really shoot it from deep.

Kinda tough liking something that has Illinois and Iowa in the same sentence
He went to Nebraska for chiropractic school, so it seems that he has allegiances all over the big ten.
Also fun fact - he trains his sons and other local athletes out of a local judo gym. Very knowledgeable strength and conditioning programmer

Made the same exact comp on here a few weeks ago. Think they are essentially the same prospect.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again-pass on Casey. Give me Corhen 10 times out of 10.

Final 2022 Illinois rankings will have Schutt higher than Casey

Casey’s got to have longer arms than Mike Shaw. Shaw was listed at 6’8 but IMO his effective height was more like 6’3. He had a real long neck and real short arms, which is the opposite of what you want for a basketball player.

Any else wishing that Schutt didn't shoot it quite so well this summer?

I have no knowledge whatsoever, but I just don't see us stepping up on this one. It would be so nice to have another assassin in town. Goode, I think will be, but probably not this year.
I've only watched highlights, but Schutt looks in a different league than Goode. It's not just that he shoots so well, but his release is super quick and he also is always looking to attack the basket. Sometimes great shooters are hesitant to penetrate, but Schutt loves it. And yes, he's more than just "sneaky athletic."
