IMHO...from watching college and pro hoops for 65 years, AC has to become a proficient shooter before an NBA team will seriously consider him. Sure he could go overseas and make some money. But he has the B1G exposure and the time to work on his shot....and if he does he will be enough of a threat offensively to draw attention Plus, he has to be able to guard Chris Paul and other quick as lightening and experienced PGs. Not there yet, but at least I am not concerned about him leaving too soon. Check back in a couple of years...then we will have some good facts with which to back up any opinion....one way or another.I've seen a lot of posts about Curbelo going pro after this year or next. Is there anyone else that isn't so sure Curbelo won't be a 4-year player? He wasn't even a starter as a freshman, and hasn't shown a consistent 3-point shot yet. I agree he has potential should he start burying the deep shot, but folks have to remember that Ayo might not even be a first rounder.
I don't necessarily disagree, but Rajon Rondo never really figured out his shot and has stuck around the league for approximately 15 years. Ricky Rubio for 10 years. AC's pure point guard skills are special enough that I think he has a place in the league as at least a back up PG. If he can figure out his outside shot, then I think his ceiling is much higher.I've seen a lot of posts about Curbelo going pro after this year or next. NBA scouts told coaches that Curbelo was the best NBA prospect on the team last year over Ayo and Kofi.IMHO...from watching college and pro hoops for 65 years, AC has to become a proficient shooter before an NBA team will seriously consider him. And it’s not close IMO. We’re either going to have one or two AA’s this year depending on Kofi’s decision.NBA scouts told coaches that Curbelo was the best NBA prospect on the team last year over Ayo and Kofi.

If he can hit an outside shot, I think his NBA comp is Steve Nash.IMHO...from watching college and pro hoops for 65 years, AC has to become a proficient shooter before an NBA team will seriously consider him. Steve Nash at AC's age was already lighting it up big time.If he can hit an outside shot, I think his NBA comp is Steve Nash.
Nash's stats as a freshman were nothing special. Eight points and less than 3 assists, meh.Steve Nash at AC's age was already lighting it up big time.
I seem to remember that freshman year when Nash led his team to a first round NCAA upset of #2 Arizona making 6 free throws in the last 30 seconds.Nash's stats as a freshman were nothing special. Eight points and less than 3 assists, meh.
How many of them thought that? Lots of NBA teams don't even have a benchwarmer who is as short as Curbelo. 6'1 with a 6'3 wingspan is pretty small in an NBA where defenses switch all the time. And that's not yet considering that he has not shown the ability to shoot 3's yet, which would obviously be essential for someone of his size in the NBA. I hope they are right though, because 6'1 guys that are lottery picks must have really good college careers.NBA scouts told coaches that Curbelo was the best NBA prospect on the team last year over Ayo and Kofi.
I like the Tony Parker compIf he can hit an outside shot, I think his NBA comp is Steve Nash.
He must read this boardPiper crystal ball for Epps

So, shot in the dark here. We have 2 open spots. We are going to hold one for Kofi until he makes a decision. I have doubts we can fill both spots with impact players if he goes elsewhere. If Giorgi came back for NIL money, which might be more than he can make going pro, that would be a pretty good selling point for Kofi coming back if he’s on the fence.
I know Giorgi has been out making money but not sure it’s really outside of NIL parameters and Kofi has some issues there as well.
Yea good point. Hadn’t thought about that.I think that ship has sailed since the deadline to withdraw from the draft has passed.
I Know I’ve said this a few times, but he has a good looking shot. He hasn’t really looked for the opportunity much. He’s a pass first player. I agree with you. Once the game slows down, he will show his ability to hit the outside shot. last year he was a double threat player. He has to add the third threat mentality. If he can hit an outside shot, his comp is Tre Young.
And after his success in the playoffs, Tre Young type players will be in high demand.
Is his wingspan really only 6’3? He just seems a lot longer and play bigger than Trent or other smaller guards, particularly the way he is able to throw it down with ease. If he really only has a 6’3 wingspan, he must have crazy hops.
And for the record I believe that, while he may never crack 40% or be an elite shooter, Belo’s 3pt % will dramatically improve this year. He has picture perfect form and really think it’s just a matter of repetition, the game slowing down, and getting a little confidence. I think he will hit 33-34% pretty easily this year.

Chester “tSOB*” Frazier > Ronald “Chin” ColemanIf Chet manages to land Harris, Epps, and Whitmore in his first class….. what a hire from BU
Easily. It’s also undeniable that TA is a better hire at the time than Chin wasChester “tSOB*” Frazier > Ronald “Chin” Coleman
