Illinois Hoops Recruiting Thread (Week of June 28th, 2021)

Luka Garza had one of the most productive college careers ever for for a center, 24, 9, 2 and 1.5 last year on 55% from the field, 44% from 3 and 70% from the line.
That guy MIGHT go mid second round, even after losing around 15 lbs to get a bit quicker.
Kofi took zero threes last year, shot 55% from the line, and averaged 0.2 assists a game.
This isn't to just blast Kofi who I would love to have back. This is to point out why teams may be telling him what he doesn't want to hear. Kofi could get taken late 2nd round, or, he could be undrafted and running around in the G-League or overseas. Maybe he would love that life. He could come back to Illinois and be the focal point, put up a clean 20 and 10 and show some promise in his shooting, passing and lateral movement and probably go in the mid 2nd round next year. All while being a king at Illinois for one more year.
I don't think there is any way he comes back, but I hope he does.

I don’t think Kofi returns. BUT. If there’s a chance, then big time boosters should step up and make him the example of what can be done for a college athlete.
Heck, I bought a cameo from Giorgi mostly just to support the young man in his future. This is where our alumni base and fan support needs to show its strength.
