I'm in the same boat. I see him listed at 205 lbs and I can't help but think he's tiny (which is pretty ridiculous). If Fletch can get him up to 230-240, he should have no trouble holding his own in the B1G.

I am also 205. Of course, I am 7 inches shorter than him and it used to be a higher percentage of muscle than it is now. Make of that what you will.

I wouldn't mind us trying to go with a smaller, more athletic big. Who in the conference can defend and guard him/Hawkins on the perimeter? Id be even more ok with us getting him to say 225 and 6'10" to keep that bounce. Hawkins too, he will be a huge matchup problem in the coming years for other teams!

I have a Zoom meeting later. Maybe I can do it then instead of paying attention.

Update: People kept asking me questions so I had no choice but to pay attention. Sorry, all; the gif will have to wait.

So I still think our biggest roster hole is a 4. Who do we get in the transfer portal? Ntambwe? Brandon Johnson? Tre Mitchell?

I would think Ntambwe or Johnson are most likely, but I’m surprised we haven’t pulled the trigger on anyone yet. Could it be we are waiting for the NBA withdrawal deadline to pass and targeting a bigger fish (EJ)?

As another poster said, it is also really interesting we don’t seem to be targeting any more 5’s. Right now Payne is the only BIG ready center on the roster and he is far from a proven commodity. Makes me optimistic staff thinks Kofi is coming back and Payne is filling Giorgi’s spot.

Really excited it looks like we are keeping the roster intact. Add one or 2 more pieces in the front court and I think we could be very good next year!

I think Payne said when he committed that staff told him he would be filling Giorgi's spot (which was interesting as G hadn't yet announced).

Get a look like poster and place in front of your computer with a recording "I'm not sure, let me check into that and get back to you first of the week"

I think this is incorrect and it was widely known g was leaving

Pretty sure Payne said it in an early interview. There was a fair amount of discussion on here about it. And just noting it was said before Giorgi formally announced, not that folks didn’t expect him to leave.

To paraphrase George Costanza, this is probably because this whole universe is against us!
