Is it not looking good for Whitmore? Or is it just more up in the air?
Whitmore is blue blood material. Not that we don't have a shot, just always a difficult test competing against the Nova's and UNC's of the world. We did beat out Kansas for Epps so it can happen. Have to hope Chester's connection with him wins out

It’s literally 1 game. He played 13 minutes. Only took 2 shots. If anything, all you can really gather from that is he isn’t going to force up shots.
That's a little overly simplistic. It's not just about shots and points. Four rebounds is encouraging. Two assists to two turnovers is meh. Three fouls, no steals, and a +/- of -1 is not great. If he had been playing better, I guarantee he would have played more minutes.

It's still 1 game. Maybe he wasn't feeling well or is nursing an injury. You just never know.... If you judged last year's Illini team by the last game, you'd think they were the most over-rated team in history, and that Trent Frazier should never shoot the ball under any circumstances.
It's never good to have a bad game, but it happens to everyone.

And over-analyzing 1 game (a national team game, at that) of a kid who hasn't even taken the court yet of his junior year, by all accounts really likes Illinois, and could potentially end up being one of the highest rated kids we have ever landed, if we do, isn't overly simplistic? Lol. Come on now

It’s. One. Game.

Sample size. This does not really say much to him as a player. The semi finals he dropped 20 points in 18 minutes, so I think he has his spot in the rotation. Note - in the semifinals they won by more so he likely had more minutes to rest the starters.

The question was - what does it say about him as a player. It says nothing. It’s 1 singular game unless you watch the film, there’s no way to know what kind of matchup he had, or what defense they played against. Certain skill sets work well vs man, but struggle vs zone.

Nothing can definitively be said about his future based on 13 minutes of one game.

Why do you hate Fears?
Who loves fears? I hate fears. Fears make you weak!

What I said: Fears had a pretty pedestrian game.

I was referring to your comment after that “wonder what to make of that”. I told you it’s one game, so there’s really not much to make of it….little pot calling the kettle black here?

In any case. Good to see Illini sitting good with a few national team caliber players
