Good video. Notable points:
1. He was asked if he intends to come watch a game this year. He said, "Not just one. I want to come for a lot of games" (1min 20sec)
2. Would be cool if all 3 players could go to the same school
3. JJ Taylor emphasizes defense
4. Definitely wants to go to college (as opposed to pro)
5. Knows Ayo. He visits their High School still

Would have to think it's still categorized as unlikely but boyyyyy oh boyyy.

I think in this new world it all comes down to how much can you offer in cash (above the table). In the past we've always heard it's my home blah blah blah and without exception the 5 star Chicago guys have gone to the blue bloods (and probably got paid under the table). Well now that pay is out in the open, if we can create a 7 digit package, I think we will be able to keep some of these 5 star guys home.

But can we offer that type of money? because the blue bloods can.

This part really excites me. I don't even truly know what to expect for home game crowds. All I know is that my sky-high expectations are probably too low.

Doesn’t Ayo’s dad coach there?

I don’t know why anyone could offer more than Illinois.

After he starts classes, donor requests a statue, approved by U of I. Name, image, and likeness. Asks for donations above the artists fee. I would hope a Taylor could get a couple of million for his NIL, from illinois basketball fans.

I don't have any additional insight over anyone else, but we were the 9th ranked program in terms of revenue in 2019. Imagine the earning potentials are even higher now (new international markets, #1 seed, re-emergence of brand in 2020, yada yada yada). Seeing as though he would be our highest ranked recruit ever by about 20 spots, he would get a much bigger slice of the pie than at any other program as a freshman. He would also obviously be able to leverage his image better as a hometown hero. I'm not typically a homer with these things, but I'm not sure why would couldn't throw the kitchen sink at him, and then some.

If he is swayed to go to Kentucky or Duke because of their brands, I get that and there is nothing much to do about it. Unsure he would make more money there though.

Marcus Liberty was the #1 recruit when he came to Illinois

Heard JJ tell a fan in the stands at the football game in response to "hope to see you playing here soon" "No doubt, you will, this is the where I wanna play"

Could be a Peoria Manual replay…Marcus Griffin, Sergio and Frankie all come to Illinois.

Thanks for the info. I’m just not going to believe it until I see it. Too many things in play to ever feel good about his recruitment. I don’t know the kid, but the kind of pressure they are under is intense and coming from everywhere. Seems like a good kid and I will wish him the best no matter what (absent a hat trick!) and will keep my fingers crossed.

BTW, the hot dogs were great.

Understandable, just keeping the hopium topped off. The words were said, no way to tell if there is anything behind them.
