Lazy post. Not saying I agree or disagree, but if you are going to stake that claim, step up.
Illini are in strong recruiting position in B10. Michigan and Ohio State are only real competitors and they cannot sign everybody. MSU and Purdue play ugly ball (thank goodness Weber is gone). Wisconsin has huge team chemistry problem. Iowa was the Luke Garza show. Indiana may be better but Woodson was not a home run hire. Duke UNC are trending down. Kentucky had bad year - the fact they are stealing coaches from Illinois shows how far they have fallen. Self was badly hurt by Addidas scandal. The new rock star coaches seem to be Chris Beard at TX, Nate Oates at Alabama, Mark Few at Gonzaga and Jay Wright at Villanova. We can go head to head with these guys!
Ok fine DICKnaggie, I'll go if it makes you happy.

Everyone in the B1G is real recruiting competitors, let's be honest here.

We've been focusing more on Indiana recruiting, with Goode and a lesser extent Fears. That's obviously IU and Purdue's backyard. IU has already landed a great class for 2022 (including a top 20, 5 star guard) and since Woodson has built his staff, I haven't heard anything other than that hire looks like a homerun. Nebraska has a 5 star. Shrewsberry has been killing it at Penn St recruiting wise and probably would have beaten us out for Oweh if he hadn't gone to Oklahoma.

To dismiss MSU because they play "ugly ball"....like what? Is that a joke? I guess this guy doesn't realize MSU has the top 2020 from the state of Illinois on their team right now, who is also a 5 star and looks the part. You know they play in the premier college basketball showcase next week right?

Purdue doesn't play ugly ball. What does that even mean exactly? I love watching Purdue. They are disciplined, they move the ball, they have great sets to get their players in their spots and they develop players. So that Carsen Edwards team played ugly? Right....

Really weird self burn about Kentucky and our former assistants. Dude I guess thinks Coach O got his first job with Illinois or something?

Yeah man, Duke is definitely on a downturn with three 5 stars in 2022 already committed along with the best player in the state of Illinois, which would be our highest rated recruit. He's their 4th hightest. They have the number 1 class locked up and they're probably not done...UNC seems to be struggling too by landing two players we really wanted in Seth Trimble and Jalen Washington...Self is also definitely hurting with his preseason number 3 team and current #3 recruiting class in 2022....

And to call Mark Few and Jay Wright "new" rockstars is like calling Fall Out Boy a hot new rock band.

I come here for this. All of this. Way to step up. The original post was a train wreck.

This place hurts me sometimes. The amount of straw man arguments followed by two people who have the same passion for the same thing arguing like an unfunny Grumpy Old Men remake is just insane.

It's the B1G, everyone can recruit and coach. Meyers Leonard was drafted because of his potential. Ayo was seen as a work hard tweener that doesn't fit today's NBA prototype. He's doing well because he's an intelligent, hard worker, who overachieves because he maximizes his potential.

Duke, UNC, UK, KU are still who they are. They aren't going anywhere unless Scheyer bombs, Davis bombs, Cal leaves, or Self forgets how to coach and recruit. Only two of those are a remote possibility. Even if they are down they will eventually come back to the top. They will get whatever coach they need to win.

Everyone take your Men's 50+ multivitamin with your metamucil and get a good night sleep. We're all on the same team.

I agree, the initial post was a trainwreck.
