I don’t typically use my astute prognostication skills for Illini recruiting — preferring to save this power for more important things like geopolitical issues, locating missing children, investment opportunities and knowing the dinner specials at a restaurant before arriving. Buy today I’ll make an exception. The lure to come home will be too much for Boswell and he will be an Illini.

I think some on here are undervaluing Harris. I think he has the mental game to overcome any talent issues. He could be what Trent was by soph year. I am impressed with his game.
How are you defining talent? He looks plenty talented to me - long arms and very good run-jump athleticism, and decent handles for a SG. He probably needs to improve his outside shot.

I’m no talent evaluato, but I have really liked what I’ve seen. All the guys Underwood and company have targeted and signed have been not only talented, but gritty as well. No softies. I like it.

Some on here are saying he will got get much playing time and I am saying he has intangibles that will get him on the floor. I think he and Podz can be lock down defenders next year. From what I have seen, he is talented and like you said, long and athletic. I am not saying he has talent issues, just saying what talent issues he may have. Shooting can be better and if he improves that this summer, he will be a complete player.

Should be quite a battle for playing time at the guard spots next year. If Belo comes back and is healthy, you have to figure he takes most of the minutes at PG. However, at SG, Podz and Harris are both tenacious guys who will not go down easily. And Epps, while more of a 1, could clearly play SG next to Belo.

The thing is... you can never predict how a lot of that will translate to college. Sure he has these intangibles, but we do not know if those intangibles will compare to other high level players. When it comes to betting if a freshman will be able to get consistent minutes on the floor, it's best to bet that they wont. It takes time to transition, and it can be unfair to place lofty expectations on them.

If you mean his ranking I agree with you- but his talent level is high. He reminds me very much of Kendall Gill, long arms extremely quick and gets to the rim and finishes. His outside shot is behind other aspects of his game and would make him a top D1 player if it improves.

I’m super excited to see him develop in the O&B

There were about 4 games on ESPN yesterday. The most interesting was La Lu game against Compass. Fears vs Boswell. Compass was down when Boswell began to assert himself. He had more than 10 points in the fourth. Hit some big time three point baskets. Showed range and some ball handling. Good looking player. Fears hit his free throws, drove to the basket. Slender build and looks to be a tad under 6 feet tall. I don't remember him taking any outside shots. #1 player in the class DJ Wagner was impressive in the afternoon game. He looks really good.
