Not necessarily directed toward you, but this new obsession with height and length is just an overreaction to last year's roster. Having one or two players under 6'2" isn't a problem. Especially when those players are quick. It's when your primary guard rotation is 6'3", 6'2", 6'1", 6'1", that it becomes an issue.

But I agree that Skyy is the better get than Fears at the moment. Just trying to get ahead of the, "We don't want [insert player] because they're short.", narrative that is emerging. More to it than height. This ain't Tinder.

Agreed. One 6' or under guy isn't a problem. Three of them on the court at the same time is.

This Dude could be another Kofi (at least in size). Guess we offered him.

1-3 interchangeable - we shrunk last year

2021 - Ayo 6'4" Miller 6'4" Trent 6' 1"
2022 - Trent 6'1 Plummer 6'1" Andre 6'1"
2023 - Skyy 6' 3" Epps 6'2" RJ 6'7" ?
Not sure on who plays #2 guard but Podz 6’4”, Sincere 6’5” or transfer 6’5” are all significantly longer than Epps. Team could be flying Illini type length which could change defense from going over ball screens to switching. 1-4. Could see some new wrinkles next year.

If nothing else changes, we could go with Skyy, Podz, RJ, Hawk and Kofi. Epps, Harris, Goode, Rogers and Dain are the subs along with Ben. Maybe a veteran guard to give us experience and to mentor the three young guards we have. We will have size for the first time for Brad. We could easily see Goode and RJ on the floor at the same time or Hawk and Rogers. We will be very interchangeable. We were too predictable last year. Not anymore.

Ah, I love the caution police. Yeah, no one knows what the future beholds.

Sencire is not 6’5, he’s probably 6’3 in shoes

I also see him listed a few places at 6'5", but as we do know, its the one physical attribute that tends to be exaggerated the most re: basketball prospects.

In fairness, Curbelo played up because he’s got long arms, exceptional quickness, a nose for the ball and a plus-plus motor, and Trent did because he was extremely smart and busted his tail. Plummer would’ve struggled to check Verne Troyer, though, and was most of the problem.

Though listed heights are frequently generous (or as another posted said "aspirational"), Sencire definitely has long arms.

IMO using the term "long" for a player refers as much to arm length as to height.

In that vain, I would consider Sencire, RJ, and Dainja, (among others) to be "long."

Pretty sure we will see Podz is taller than Harris. If either are 6'5" it is Podz

This is correct. Dain, for example, is 6'9 but has a 7'7 wingspan. That is about as "long" as you can get. As opposed to say, Emoni Bates, who I believe is 6'9 and was measured having a 6'7 wingspan. The opposite of long. A t-rex if you will.
