Belo “transferring” was all a ploy to get Skyy
Would love to see them play together. It'll be nice having two players who are capable of driving to the hoop and making plays for others on the court at the same time. Felt at times when Belo wasn't on the court that we had zero penetration, just pass around the 3pt line til we are open or drop it down to Kofi.

LOL, that's a pretty generic description of Belo's year last year. He was erratic to say the least. And his outside shot needs a TON of work. He is what he is, but if he's expected to start, I'm not sure that's a good thing.
Consider:
  • Sixth man of the year as a freshman
  • Dramatically improved decision making in the latter part of his freshman year during which time he averaged over 10 a game
  • Had a major concussion during the exhibition games of his sophomore season
  • First attempt at a comeback was clearly still heavily affected by post-concussion symptoms
  • Sat a long while after that recovering from said post-concussion symptoms, promptly got COVID upon returning
  • Finally legitimately returned and not in full game condition after missing most of the season
So yeah, I am prepared to write off the entire season as a fluke given the circumstances and how he performed when fully healthy and conditioned at the end of his freshman year. The only question mark for me is that some of the insiders here hinted there were also some chemistry issues by the end of the year. Whether that is true and whether it could be explained by the other issues he was having I don't know.

If this rumor is true, sign me up full steam ahead. The kid is electric when he's right.

What about the off court issues with AC that our insiders alluded to? Hopefully nothing major, if it is indeed him coming back.

Maybe he just needed to step away for a bit and clear his head…

We must have depth. Players get hurt which is so very clear after this season. We need more that one player at the 4 spot with some size to defend and rebound, and hopefully shoot the three ball around at least 33 percent. Players need to understand that good quality teams need to have depth with skills mentioned about to play the 4 especially with Kofi on the floor we need a 4 that can shoot and do all those things. Coleman did shoot it a better last season towards the end of the year but still must improve on his 29percent overall. If Jake leaves we need a stretch 4 and hopefully with more size that Jake because he is more if a 3 to me.
Well that’s a completely different narrative to the one I responded, and I agree.

But I don’t agree that everything need to be defined by what Kofi can’t do. He needs to adapt, just like Skyy said in his signing video. If Kofi and game plan is the same, we know our limits for the year.

And maybe found out grass isn’t necessarily greener. Couldn’t blame the kid for wanting a fresh start and I will always be a Belo fan whatever his decision, but he had to have one of the better NIL deals on the team last year with the Credit Union. Doubt those types of deals are available to newcomers at a school like St John’s, probably not Miami either. We may still be his best option. If this is indeed true I would welcome Belo back with open arms.
