Kofi update:
Staff does not know what he's thinking right now. Has a week to decide (April 24th)
Buzz has been saying pro for a couple of days. I would put it at 50/50 right now, no one really knows...
IF Kofi does leave, there are two guys in particular that would make great replacements. Both are very interested.
Should be a big few days
Well if he leaves I wish him the best. I hope he is getting some sound advice because he can likely make about $1,000,000 bucks here it seems. Ugh, I feel worse for him than I do our squad if he does leave. He isn't NBA ready.

Having terrible measurements doesn’t mean he’s a terrible athlete.

Nope Kevin Durant could do any damage at all on the bench press. As long as you strong enough to put the ball in the basket. With that being said, we straight at the 3 position.

Guaranteed money isn't everything.

I am sure he has the confidence to believe he can make an NBA roster next year, even if he's not drafted. That being said, Kofi also said in an interview last month that Europe could be an option. Maybe he ultimately decides he'd like to move to Spain and make some pretty good money over there. I hear the weather and the beaches are nice.

I'm sure he has confidence. I'm a gambler to a point too but not a million bucks. That doesn't mean he is correct on the probability of him making it to the NBA. He should at least to some degree listen to the experts. If he can make as much or close overseas as he can as an Illini OK then. Most experts have not said that. It's his life and he will have to live with his choices. I want the best for him and if he were my son I would say stay and take a sure million it will change your life and is a sure thing.

I wonder if this could be a bit of gamesmanship to sweeten the pot to stay. This is the first off-season if free agency to a degree in college hoops

European women are too ugly. No one wants to deal with that. Better to stay in Champaign where the pickings are lush.

I’m happy for Kofi if he decides to try the Pro path. That’s what this program needs. Players come in highly rated then develop then move on to play professionally. That attracts more good players which it sounds like is happening.

Players moving on to play in the G-League or in Europe is not going to be a better advertisement for our program than a star player making a mil playing here. I'm all for Kofi doing what's best for him, and that's a decision he alone can make, but if he goes pro right now his career path is going to be a lot more like Giorgi's than Ayo's. If that's what he wants, then he should absolutely do it, but let's not pretend it's going to be a boon for the program.

He wasn’t going to stay here forever. At least the timing allows time to get a suitable replacement from the transfer portal. A lot of talented kids in the program. There’s plenty to be excited about, regardless.

Kofi leaving would really suck. But, if we can get another solid roster addition I still like our roster. We could be a great small ball team as long as we can be scrappy on defense. Long, fast, athletic

If Kofi leaves let's just get Johni Broome and call it a night
