As the coach the world we lived in was the one I create. At clinics, I spoke on culture and another saying I had was “You will always get what you tolerate.” I didn’t tolerate whining and pouting about starting or playing time. Two years in a row I kicked my best player off the team at semester. Both years we got better.

Sure. Then they either grew up and got over it, and put the team first….. or they didn’t and then they transferred. Like I said, 2 were so bad that they did not even make it to the semester.

One year we were 1-9 at the semester. Kicked off my best player for attitude issues and finished 14-12.
As a segue…. I ( Coach Nitty) would never take Emoni Bates. Now, Coach Underwood is ridiculously better than I could ever dream of being. If he thinks he can reign him in and shut his dad’s mouth…. so be it. He is talented.

Our wins will be by large margins. Losses could be equally bad. But, both entertaining
Neptune was Whitmores lead at Nova— at least at the very beginning. He moved on to fordham before it finished but still adds a level of complexity to this.
